3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice clear brown colour with a good size head and good carbonation.
Aroma is a very pleasant scent that goes all around the room, nice gentle balance of fruits and malts with some good bitterness there too.
Taste is up the same alley, nice and pleasant beer, great on a autumn night!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle, brewed in Belgium. Decent dark beer with caramel, toffee and oomph but missing the passion or intricacy of a classically Belgian brown ale.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a dark brown beer with a generous beige head and a malty toffee aroma. There is a very hearty sweet roasted malt flavor with slight bitterness and carbonation at the finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In short: A straightforward toasted toffee/caramelized Belgian ale.
How: Bottle 300ml. Probably 1+ year old when consumed, but still before expiration date.
The look: Cloudy redish-brown body topped by a short-lived beige head
In long: Nose of liquorice and caramel. Taste is very simple. Lots of toasted malts with 2/3 toffee and 1/3 caramel. A spicy sensation (cloves, coriander and such) although I’m pretty sure the beer is not spiced. Almost no fruity flavours. The hops have a wet-cigar flavour that dries out the beer without much bitterness. Finish is very short. Carbonation lacks the liveliness of most Belgian ales. Nothing bad but this is boring. This is a Dull Grief.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 6.5%. Fruity and yeasty aroma. Vinous with dried fruit. Dark brown colour, seems cloudy. Stable light brown head. The flavour stars off roasted, quite sweet. It is also quite fruity with a little creamy note and a hint of fresh hops. Not bad, but not entirely clean.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ ZBF 2009.
Pours clear, dark brown with a small, creamy, off-white, yellowish head. Aroma is lightly roasted, dark chocolate, plums and raisins. Highish carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Rather sweet flavour, but there are lots of dried fruits; plums and raisins in particular. Nice, sweetish and very lightly fruity tart, lingering aftertaste.
