Bottle purchased at Beer Temple, Brussels, E 2.25. Caramel aroma completely dominates some minor fruit notes. Pours a cloudy brown with short-lived head. The taste is medium to heavily sweet in keeping with the aroma. Body is a bit light for a dubble but in keeping with the alcohol and the finish is-as you’d expect-sticky and short. Maybe not a bad beer for dessert.

Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, bubblegum, sugar and light fruit. Flavour is caramel, bubblegum, dry and light fruit.

Pours a clear and dark reddish brown beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, sweetness, sugar, bread and fruit. The flavor follows the nose with additional alcohol. The palate is alcoholwarmth with sweetness. Overall a beer below average.

Brown hazy body with an off-white fizzy head. Quite warm and pleasing malty flavour. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavour. Not perfectly balanced.

Splendid dubbel. Thick off white head. Tastes of caramel, a bit of fruit. Medium body with a brown color.

Flaske 0,33l på ’t Antwaerps Bierhuiske 28 Apr 11. Dyp mørkebrun. Lavt skum. Fruktig & krydret aroma. Smaken: Krydder. Litt ensformig og i søteste laget - men ok.

Pours a nice cola colored brown. Aromas of dark malts, fruit, and a touch of spice. Has flavors of chocolate, caramel, and a touch of wood.

Chestnut with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and raisin with a touch of red wine. Dry caramel and fruity flavour with lots of muddy yeast

Bottle @ Early Winter Tasting, Odense, 2011. Pours dark ruby amber with a small white head. Sweet nose. Yeast, toffee and caramel. A bit of fruity tartness. Medium bodied.

Dark brown/deep red color with creamy collar. Smell of hop and malt. Taste is not as sweet as expected (with this fruity dark red color). More bitter but also a bit watery, like some other Scheldebrouwerij beers.
