Maria (3975), Thisted, Denmark Jul 16, 2008 Courtesy of Fonefan. Red mahogany with a nice, creamy head. The aroma has hints of cheese, and notes of apricot and prunes and roasted malt. The flavour has sweetness, notes of syrup, candy sugar, dark fruits, light licorice and roasted malt. It’s very charming, and I like it a lot.

Bottle, 33 cl. (Bought @ Geers)
Hazy, red-brown color, with a nice off-white head.
Aroma sweet malts, dark fruits.
Medium body. Taste sweet, also dark fruits, (raisins and berries), bit caramel bitterness on the back.
davidpl (398), Santiago, Chile Jul 16, 2008 Appearance: reddish brown color. Big head of ivory to pale beige color, semi-dense and lasting.
Aroma: to caramel malts, slight chocolate and truffles smells. Intensive ripe fruity and semi-critic aromas, with reminiscences of plums, cherries and raisins. Vanilla cookies from yeasts. Very light clove smells.
Flavors: toast malts in the start with caramel reminiscences. Toffee notes, slightly smoky and woody. Good balance of yeasts (not excessive), that with the toasted malts remember me a toast bread and vanilla cookies. Fruity taste similar to banana, candied plums, raisins and, maybe, blackberries. Reminiscences of chocolate with cherries that almost could be chewed. Some vinous and like cherries liquor. Semi-toasted, chocolaty and yeasty aftertaste.
Palate: medium body and semi-oily. Low carbonation.
Remark: interesting, semi-complex and balanced beer. Fruity and chocolaty touches that almost could be chewed. SilkTork (3881), Rochester, Kent, England Jun 30, 2008 330ml bottle from Beers Of Europe. Malt fruit cake aroma. Alcohol. Dry and slightly chalky with pleasant dark bread flavours. This is an acceptable strong brown beer, but it lacks character, quality or individuality.
