Splendid dubbel. Thick off white head. Tastes of caramel, a bit of fruit. Medium body with a brown color.

I did not know what to expect from this, but what a pleasant surprise! Cloudy brown color, with beautiful long-lasting creamy head. Spicy, fruity and maybe a bit hoppy aroma. Bit malts add to the taste. Palate becomes a bit acidic at the end of the glass. But this Dulle Griet is certainly very good!

When read stuff on the forum about the closing of the Scheldebrouwerij I decided to get some of their beers when it is still possible. I was not disappointed. This beer rocks. Smell is quite good, spicy. A bit rummy indeed. Very massive sweet, spicy taste, still well balanced. Palate is malty, bitter. This is good, oh yeah!

bittle at the Mug in Middelburg. Something like the Merck Toch Hoe Sterck, but with a more caramel taste and a slightly browner colour.

Bottle. Blackish brown beer with a creamy and thickish off white head. The aroma is malty and rich and the flavour is warming, malty, rich and mildy sweet. Overall a nice malty and roasted beer.

In a 330ml bottle from the Fat Cat in Norwich. Already had a few pints, and maybe a couple of belgian beers. So I was definately not sober, though I felt bowled over by this beer at the time and reviewed it, despite being with friends (something I try not to normally do, as it can slow the evening down somewhat). They all agreed that yeas it was an awesome beer. Pitch Black with smooth white head. Smell red fruits and plums with some alcohol wading in. Taste much more with loads of fruit, loads of rich malt and a touch of bitter hops. Some carbonation. Awesome.

Excellent dubbel with a grand taste of caramell and malt. The Scheldebrouwerij obviously knows what it’s doing.

Bottle from Rehills in Newcastle. Very dark hazy brown with ruby red highlights. It has a creamy red fruity and candy sugar flavour with a sweet sugary slight tart finish.
