Tap, Café Morshuis in Albergen. Cream and honey in the aroma. Creamy, velvety flavor with raspberry, some roastbitterness and honey. Honey and roastbitter aftertaste, almost milky. Hint of diacetyl?? Good, but somehow I expected better.

Yellow-brown head, deep dark red-brown beer. Dry, roasted nose, even scorched malts. Whiff, very briefly, of chocolate. Sweetish, after the roastiness thins out a bit. Caramel, bit chocolatey. Bit slick, medium to well-bodied, just a bit of alcohol coming up. Sweet, but not undeserving. It feels quite professionaly brewed, despite the homebrewers’ recipe, quite OK. Whatever a "Belgian Imperial Stout" might be, is an enigma to me.

Draught at Arendnest. Creamy off-white fair mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty light hoppy aroma. Nice light roasted flavor. Average bitter nice finish. Oily palate. Not a good imperial stout, lacks power and smoke.

Oct, 2007 In de Wilderman. Tap. Mildly sweet. Some cardboard. Lingering bitterness in the swallow. Soft chocolate malt. Faint buttery notes. Served cold on draught. Oily and fishy. Smoked herring. OK.

On tap at De Wildeman as Generaal Pardon Belgian Imperial Stout.
Brown coloured, small creamy head, mild roasted nose. The aroma is also roasted malt with notes of honey, licorice and caramel. Quite weak palate with metallic notes in the finish.

Tap, Arendsnest. Dark black color, medium brown head. Aroma of heavy licorice, quite spicy, some coffee, but overwhelming licorice. Roasted malty taste. Quite straightforward stout-like beer, not an imperial stout. Ok.

Tap@ Arendsnest. Cheers to Rita! :-D. Aroma has some coffee some roast and is quite weak. Dark black coloured with a medium, beige head. Taste is sweet with a lot of licorice. Some coffee roast. Medium bodied. Indeed straightforward.

On tap at Arendsnest. Dark brown. Rich foam. Nose of red berry fruits. Fruity with taste of oranges and sugar. Syrupy. Coffee roast. Pretty good. Wasn’t my favourite of the night.
