3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Pours a hazy, milky-yellow body with a very tall, expansive, white head. Great-looking laceworks on the descent.
Smell: Pale malted barley layered in pepper, non-pepper spice, and lemon zest with a candyish but also floral edge to it and fruity hints of pears, peaches, and citrus.
Taste: Faintly grainy tastes of pils and rather pale malts given a drop or two of simple syrup, one drop of honey. Orchard fruit juice fruitiness, then, some phenolic anise-hinted spiciness along with a pinch of ground pepper. Leafy, spicy hops with ample bitterness. A bit of the spice and bitterness still hanging about for the drying, warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-high, engaging carbonation.
Overall: It’s nice enough, but not entirely without some coarseness to it.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
draft@’Waagstuk: slightly cloudy, yellow/golden with a big, white fluffy head, smell is wonderful, sharp floral hops, somewhat fruity & some grassy hops, sharp & hoppy, taste is a bit less impressive than the smell but still pretty dam good, starts out with plenty of Belgian yeast then goes into the floral & slightly grassy hops, some fruity lemon, aftertaste is slight cooked vegetables, some spices as well, bitter, somewhat light body & lively carbonation, Belgian IPA would be a more fitting description, doesn’t have all that much in common with any tripel I have had so far, beginning to dig this brewery more & more

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Moeder Lambic, Fontainas
Deep blond color, with creamy head. Sweet aroma of malt and grains. Good body strength, sweetish malt flavor, with mild presence of the Belgian yeast, correct bitterness, and a bit of warmth from the alcohol. Not impressive, but pleasant.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Yellow / golden color, nice white head. Decent smell and taste but the carbonation is just a little too high in my opinion. Takes away a little from the taste. Overall pretty nice though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: hazy medium gold, big pillowy white head, extensive shining lacing curtains. Aroma: more like a Belgian pale ale than a tripel, with notes of citrus (lemon), yeasty spices and herbs, with notes of sweet cracker and honeyed malts. Taste: starts with yeast and some spicy/citrus hops, with some pie crust sweetness, then a bit of a peppery rush along with some fruity notes. Finish: slightly bitter, a little funk and hops, with some floral notes. Notes: Pretty complex, with lots of flavors and profiles coming and going and coming back again. I think this is much more of a BPA than a tripel, because there was just not much in the way of traditional tripel characteristics. Palate was creamy yet light; combined with well-hidden alcohol made this pretty drinkable. Bottle from Rare Beer Club.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The pour is a murky yellow with a lot of long-lasting, puffy head and slow moving bubbles. The aroma is of malts, yeast, biscuit, but lower in hops than I would have expected. The body is light to medium. The taste has a fruity tart character with a moderately dry finish. I did not notice any hop assertiveness in either the aroma or the taste but it was likeable enough.
