COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Ruiter (Hop Rider) has a full, almost rustic malt body, and pairs Belgian yeast-driven flavors with American assertive hoppiness. It is dry hopped, with two noble varieties which add complexity, delicacy and a bit of funk.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Light malt and light hop aroma with light yeast. Sweet malt and pine flavor with earthiness, yeast, and light summer fruit. Medium bodied. Sweet malt and yeast lingers with light summer fruit and light pine.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a large white head. Aromas are toast with apricot and spritzy lemon. Pineapple with salted butter and a light egginess. Flavours are sweet mixed tropical fruit with Lilt soft drink. Toasted malts with nice soft yeastiness. Fruity and dry to finish. Very pleasant.

750 ml bottle from Bertís Better Beers, $10.95. Poured into my Allagash Chalice. Pleasant nose of Citrus, yeast and hops. Ample carbonation in a slightly hazy gold. Ĺ inch white head that laced and stayed until the last sip. Noticeable yeast particles floating around the liquid. Nice hop presence right up front of the sip, mellowing into Belgian yeast, pale malts and lemon zest. Body is light with a dry finish. Amazing drinkability @ 8.5 % abv. I finished the entire bottle with ease. Solid!

Appearance: opaque yellow, frothy white head, drippy sheets of lace

Flavor: lots of hop flavor, dry malt, phenolic spicyness, light bitterness

The beer is a hazy straw color with a medium frothy white head that evaporates slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, bready malt and fruit. Medium body with a fruity character and notes of yeast, grassy hops and sweet malt. The finish is sweet with a fruity yeast aftertaste. Above average all around.

Cloudy tan with a thick head. The aroma mixes fresh clean bready malts, with light herbal (styrians I would guess) hops. Light hops lend spice to a somewhat sugary malty character. An easy-going brew, sweetish but balanced and tasty.

Bottle. Has tiny particulates dancing with the thin streams of effervescence rising to the top. Is hazy yellow-gold. The head is thick and long lasting and very white. The dry aroma has egg shell, California gardens after a rain , sage, light flowers, kumquat, fresh orange peel, dry bones and a hint of honey. Very lively, cheerful palate. Dry. Highly drinkable. Iím partial to this style of beer, but this is objectively really well executed. Saison DuPontís buddy beer with lingering herbal bitterness on the tongue. Hop flowers minus perfume . Syrian-goldings are nice. Kumquat. Mandarins. A delight for ppl with affection for straightforward dry hoppy Belgian beer.

Sweet zesty malt aroma. Clear golden color with a large white head. With beginning with a lightly sweet middle that gets sweet in the end again.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2011 750ml bottle split with Anndiesel. Unfiltered orange-tan color. Frothy, lacy off-white head. Clean golden malt aroma, some delicate orange, pear, apple. Well balanced, fresh, hop forward Tripel. I can imagine small samples drinking differently, but the with the yeasty bottom carefully poured into both glasses makes it quite creamy and very palatable for the 8% ABV. Really well balanced, the dry, bitter Styrian or whatever hops they use have quite a lot of depth, almost some tropical tones. Some delicate sour orange tones. Really a great example of the style, worth seeking out.

750mL bottle. Poured crystal-clear bright golden with a tall, sticky white head. The aroma picked up bright citrus, cloves, and catty hoppage over a clean bready base.. slight sourdough funk.. more meaty lemon on the back of the nose.. came across very clean and calculated. The flavor found honey and bready malts on the slick core.. cloves, lemon zest, and catty hops again around.. the sweeter and a bit syrupy finish carried through floral and catty bitterness.. a little too syrupy and the hops were odd here, but I kind of dug it. Medium-bodied and very well carbonated on the palate.. OK feel and flow, but a tad too dry and grainy at times.. decent overall, but I probably donít need another.
