COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop Ruiter (Hop Rider) has a full, almost rustic malt body, and pairs Belgian yeast-driven flavors with American assertive hoppiness. It is dry hopped, with two noble varieties which add complexity, delicacy and a bit of funk.

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is cloudy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Blah. Boring, clunky, syrupy sweet nothing of a beer.

Clear straw pour, at least for the first half of the bottle. Big white head that leaves a little bit of lacing when it finally dies down. A spicy, banana and malt aroma. Smells of sweet sugary cream. Big bitter bite with a huge carbonic nip. Highly carbonated feeling. Sweet and sharp. Like a blonde and a strong Belgian ale mixed together. Decent quaffable beer. Less like a tripel and more like a blonde.

Pour cloudy yellow with long lasting off white head and terrific lace. Aroma light citrus and spicy, grassy, with a distinct yeast smell. Taste grassy, slight spice, grapefruit, floral hops, fruity a touch sweet. MF medium body soft carb finish is crisp and bitter. Average beer but kind of meh little to sweet and some of the flavors didn’t work.

750 ml. bottle. 8% ABV per the label. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a fluffy, lasting white head, with some lacing, over a slightly hazy, light gold (SRM 4) body....nose is banana/bubblegum,light fruit (apple, pear), bit of cardamom, slight hop spice....taste is light apple, pear, heavy pepper, finishing with mild spice bitterness, and a touch of fusel alcohol....mouth feel is light, carbonation high. This is most definitely a Tripel. It has the peppery spice and appropriate aromas and flavors. It is not the best, and there are some flaws in the flavors. BJCP 7/3/12/4/7

Tasted on 3/20/11 from a 750mL bottle at Lush West Town. Pours cloudy light yellow with a massive and smooth white head that slowly recedes to spotty lace with a decent collar. The nose is spicy and fruity Belgian yeast with a good amount of grass and herbal hops bitterness, and just a bit of candi sugar sweetness. The flavor is lightly sweet with the fruity yeast up front, moving to lightly bitter and herbal hops, and a bit more bitterness on the back. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long bitter hops and fruity yeast finish.

Bold yellow in color. Nice mixture of Belgian yeast funk and floral hoppiness. Also has a nice kick of alcohol at the back. Funky aroma grows as the beer warms but the hops still keep up.
