3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Emelisse Oktoberfest 2010. Quite hoppy aroma with a hint of wet dog that emerges from its depths. Luckily the hops tame the wet dog and this is a reasonably drinkable brew. Mostly floral hops and some spices. Ok brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours light gold into a snifter. Bright white head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Yeast and candi aromas. Dry with sour alcohol upfront turning fruity in the lasting finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Decent enough for a hot night. Has a good bit of carbonation to keep the palate clean. Pours a hazy yellow with a big lacing head. The flavor has some Belgian spice, nice hop bitterness. A tad funky in the smell but not in a bad way.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Binnyís in Orland Park, IL: This poured a clear yellow body with a tall rocky head that soon collapsed into a film. It had a fruity, zesty aroma with some dusty yeast and alcohol. Kind of light-bodied for a supposed Tripel. The flavor had a crystal sugar sweetness topped by a zest and citrus pip betterness that didnít mesh too well. The finish was moderately bitter and left an oily feeling in the mouth. Itís hard to tell what the brewer was going for here.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml from Samís, Durham. Picked this up hoping for something as delicious as Hopsinjoor or Chouffe Houbolon. Pour was certainly attractive, a vigorously carbonation pale orange with a medium head and modest retention. The nose was more artificially fruity than Iíd expected (anticipating a more dry and yeasty aroma), almost like the brewer had in mind the citrus and pineapple of a certain kind of West Coast IPA. Body was medium, with a fairly thin finish. Taste was pleasant but lacked much complexity, with a bit too much sweetness to satisfy as a hybrid and not enough character for a true tripel.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to rateyourposion for sharing the bottle. Pours a cloudy light orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is nice and spicy with a good floral note and quite a citric hop character, really fresh and clean. Flavor follows a lot of the same notes, just quite reserved compared to the aroma. I wanted more of an umph, but it really just moved quickly from fruit to spice and then finished without much else other than a mild bitterness. Medium body and a spritzy carbonation. I thought this was a decent brew, just lacked some complexity and body

Nice refreshing aroma. Pleasant floral and fruity notes. Pours a nice cloudy golden and frothy white head. The starts with a good citric flavor but leaves to quickly. A solid brew but I want for it to linger a bit more. I fear I will drink too much of this.
