3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml bottle and served in my big arse Tripel Karmeliet glass: Pours a slightly hazy golden hue with a frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma has lots of earthy and barnyard esters but not really what I would say as funky. Grainy, minty and yeastie as well with just a touch of grassy hop vapours. The taste is moderately malty and earthy with some pear and apple undertones. Hint of banana and clove before the light handed herbal hop finish. As it warms the barnyard character appears more prevalent. The mouth feel is sprite, medium-bodied and not as dry as I would have hoped. Overall it is drinkable but nothing more... a slight letdown. I wonder about the age of the bottle.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Served in a snifter: Drinking this in a bar (75cl) this is an extremely expensive beer!
But the aroma is already quite nice, bit barley wine-esque.
Medium sized vast and slowly changing white foamy head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer.
Aromas of barley malts, cream, apricot, apple pie, flowers.
Very nice aroma.
Flavours of barley malts, apricot, cream, light spicy, light bitter, some flowers, yeast, delicious.
Aftertaste is barley malty, fruity, apricot, light bitter, yeasty.
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy light oily texture.
Very nice beer, could easily be a Barley Wine.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours hazy gold with a medium lacy off white head. Beautiful in the glass, fine bubbles like champagne. Nose is honey, slight ester, a bit of wheat, floral hops and grassy hops. Quite sweet, ends dry, some finishing bitterness. Alcohol present. Thin, rather oily mouthfeel. I like it fine.
