Brewed from pale and caramel malts and heavily hopped with Hersbracker and Saaz hops, this is a beer for the connoisseur, who does not shy away from a robust hoppiness. Its full, smooth flavor makes it an ideal session beer.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2007 Bottle. 33 cl, bought at Lyager Vin, Fredericia. Poured in a trappist glass. Quite clear orange, with a little thin white head. Aroma has barn, yeast, some oranges and a little ’wet dog’ maltiness. Flavour is surprisingly malty - reminding me very much of a Biere de Garde. There is a tone of exotic fruits in there - pineapple, apricot and oranges. Wet and grain-like sweet maltyness does dominate - the alcohol i not present until the very end, where it sits itself in my rear cheeks.

0.33 l bottle (7 %). Orange color, very fizzy. Orangey, phenolic, yeasty, peppery and alcoholic aroma. Sweetish and fruity-phenolic flavor with sharp alcohols, orange and pineapple.

Bottle. Cloudy golden colour with mostly lasting white head. Fruit esthers, malt and hops in the aroma. Malt, dried fruits and some green hops in the slightly sweet flavor. Rather creamy on the palate. Average finish.

Purchased in Amsterdam. A dark orange, hazy appearance. with a few floating pieces of sediment. Dry, hops aroma with some yeast, and just a touch of citrus. Flavor has more hops, I didn’t pick up on the Saaz, but they worked in this beer. Lightly sweet malt, a little fruit and some sugar. Dry, hop finish. Very interesting, easy to drink, and a unique beer.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Amber colour with foamy, but brief, off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of dried fruit (figs, prunes) and peaches. Fruity, slightly yeasty, taste with dried fruit, hints of chocolate, cherries, marzipan and a nice dash of grassy, spicy hops in the finish. Smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Well made and well balanced brew.

from crackedkettle.com - pours a cloudy dark-orange colour under a giant foamy head; aroma of orange peel and yeast; notes of raisins; sweet and slightly oily, medium and regular malt body; some late tartness which partially balances the sweetness; long fruity finish with an acidic touch - too sweet but quite interesting

(Bottled) Hazy orange-amber color with a smallish, lacy head. Sweet-toffeeish berry aroma with birch leaves and cardamom. Sweetish and grainy, slightly sour flavor of caramely toffee, flowery hops, and fruit. Medium-bodied, slightly sugary, soft,medium-carbonated palate. An enjoyable brew, although not the most complex one, with balanced sweetness.

(Dec 07) Big fizzy head early but settles quickly to leave a thin creamy cover. Lemon / orange in colour, slightly cloudy. Rich nose of fruity malts, very clean and well defined / balanced. Flavours don’t translate well due to what I perceive as excessive fizz on the palate although to be fair this did soften over 60 minutes or so.. More fruit / yeasty notes are trying to but through the bubbles but doesn’t really succeed. Finishes ok with a candied bubble-gum note. Doesn’t really distinguish itself from the pack although clearly a well made beer.
