Brewed from pale and caramel malts and heavily hopped with Hersbracker and Saaz hops, this is a beer for the connoisseur, who does not shy away from a robust hoppiness. Its full, smooth flavor makes it an ideal session beer.

My Bottom Line:
This typically yeasty Belgian-style Ale is emboldened by pervasive honeyed caramel sweetness and orangey esters. This is a well-crafted quaffer, but it may be too sweet and simple for some.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the chunk-laden amber golden.
-Discreet herbal hops tickle the finale.
-Carbonation is comfortable and serves the mouthfeel well.
-The residual sugars form a huggable body, but could be toned down for more crispness and drinkability.
-The yeast character is largely bready and its estery fruitiness isnít that compelling.

Dark coppery colored, hazy appearance. Little yellow head. Rich Netherlandish yeasty-hopped aroma, some flowers, spices and grains also here. Good aroma indeed. Medium bodied. Flavor is milder, still recognicable to be from Netherland with this yeasty-flowery spiciness and grains. Aftertaste dries still with caramel and some sourness. Good brew.

Pours a dark, cloudy yellow colour. A bit disappointing. Thereís little flavour to this one. Itís nice enough to drink but just too bland.

cloudy yellow with semi white head. Fruit and honey is dominating but also with hintís of yeast and spice. Lotsín lots of sediment.

On tap at ít Arendsnest. Clear golden with a small head. Fruity and sweet aroma. The taste is quite sweet, but with decent bitterness, witnessed by the dry finish. Well-made without being too complex. Enjoyable, though.

On draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Oh, yeah, totally liked this one. The commercial description nails it. This could be one of those session beers that lands you in serious trouble due to itís fine, smooth drinkability. This was about the time when we had worn out the welcome at this fine establishment. After crushing through an assortment of Dutch tripels and bocks, it was time to leave. This was the satisfying note that left me happy.

Bottle, 7%. Rough hop aroma. Cloudy dark orange colour, almost muddy. Small stable creamy white head. The flavour starts off with an OK maltiness, getting fruity and bready towards the finish.

Bottled. Golden with a white head. Spicy aroma from clove. Fresh and yeasty and rather sweet.
