Bottle conditioned.
Brewed from pale and caramel malts and heavily hopped with Hersbracker and Saaz hops, this is a beer for the connoisseur, who does not shy away from a robust hoppiness. Its full, smooth flavor makes it an ideal session beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale golden beer with a thick white head on top. Aroma is Belgian yeast, slight hoppy notes and a light sour, bready touch. Overall aroma is your typical, average Belgian beer. Flavor is medium sweet and has a slight bready note. Alcohol is very well hidden and not detectable in flavor or mouthfeel. Drinks really easy. Decent brew..

On tap at Christian Firtal. Yellow with a small white head. Yeasty aroma with strong phenols and a touch of fruit. Sweet malty, yeasty and phenolic flavour with spice and some plastic notes

Unclear, orange/yellow colored beer, with a thin layer of foam. It has a somewhat malty weizen like aroma, but you have to look for it. It tastes bitter and somewhat like licorice. It has a bitter aftertaste and remains for quite a while.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at ’t Pothuiske, 20130604) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, Belgian style yeast and mild sourness. Palate was medium bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, Belgian style yeast, malts, honey, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A good Belgian ale

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeasty, dry and crisp. The flavour is weak bitter but also slightly sour and acidic too, with some yeast and citrus fruit on the palate. It’s a nice enough beer, but too similar to many other Belgian/Dutch ales and it needs something else to set it apart from the rest. I really didn’t get the heavily hopped flavour that was promised.

330ml from Arden Wines. Bright gold slicked with white. Big juicy wine gum nose with suggestions of orange, pear, pineapple and green herb. Bright and perfumed with orange rind and sappy hop giving way to pale biscuity malt and peppery booze. A little harsh and soapy on the finish at first but mellows with each sip. Decent.
