Poured a slightly cloudy golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma of roast malt and chocolate, spices and some citrus. Medium, smooth body, flavour of red fruits, dry and bitter with a lingering bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma with some citrus, yeast and spices. Taste is sweet with some biscuit, spices, citrus and a soft bitter finish. Quite thin body with medium carbonation.

Dorée blanche.
Arôme houblonné, citronné et pas mal de ces houblons nobles.
Palais est amer avec ce profile restant dans les lignées belges avec un peu de sucre résiduel. Pointe de houblons épicés, malts et grains, léger citronné et fleuri, entre belge et ESB anglaise. Malte entre pâle et pils, houblon dans les notes Goldings.

Draft. Pours a clear, yellow colour with a small, white head. Aroma of dry fruits and hops. Flavour is nice bitter, not too overly bitter, just well balanced. Refreshing thirst quencher, nice session beer.

Bottle. Cloudy dark yellow/amber body. Medium head. Yeasty aroma with some dry hops. Dry hoppy taste in a smooth body. Quite hoppy finish for a Belgian blond ale (According to Ratebeer this is a Premium Bitter? Uh?). Decent but apart from the dryness nothing else really stands out.

Tasting from back in 2008.
Bottle; just on cool and into a shaker. 5 out of 5 for appearance. Towering 2 inches of foam that is steadfast and manages a wicked lace. Whispily hazy ’Lucozade’ orange body with many fine streams of bubbles. Aroma has just a little savoury fruit to balance some sticky toffee, marmalade and fresh baked bread notes. initially it is quite lively, bouncy in mouthfeel; the body unexpectedly light. The carbonation wanes rapidly to reveal licks of caramel, doughy yeast and spicy, sweet marmalade. A little tending towards the sweeter side but the flavour is complimented by a mix of floral, pine-nut and bitter orange notes in back. Long finish is more herbal and floral drying out somewhat from the tangy palate. Has a little Belgian yeast twist come through late into drinking that i thought odd but worked. Overall it’s a tasty drop; not exactly a showstopper but pleasing either way. (33cL, BBE 02/09, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

On tap @ the Braai Tapperij de Mug. This is a golden lightly blurry one with a nice dense, heavy lacing just off-white head. It has a light yeasty and fruity aroma, I get some leafs, sweetness and hints of melon. Nice. It’s average carbonated and it has a soft oily texture. Mildly bitter in flavor (as the name suggest), I get some more leafy tones in the flavor as well, mild grassy and it also has a hint of yeasty-melon. Not bad, a bit boring perhaps, but not bad tasting. 29.05.2012

Cloudy, ambery yellow, medium head. Fruity, spicy, sweet nose. Taste is more spice, citrus, some yeasty notes thrown in. Bitter finish with some sour notes and vague spice. Creamy smooth mouthfeel.
