Medium cloudy yellow banana yellow with white, foamy, lasting, thick, lacy head. Smells of yeast that consumes the nose. Apricot, citrus orange, pineapples and alcohol. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Sweet taste of fruit (apricots), with light sourness and an overall herbal yeast hoppy finish. Bitter and peppery with sugar candy and a medium alcohol hit. Not sure why it says its a Quattro?

Pours a clear copper at first with a big bubbly head that receeds into a little cover that leaves some lacing. Aroma is fruity, spicy, some rough alcohol. Taste is less sweet than expected with a lot of warming alcohol and some bitterness. Flavors are not that distinctive and alcohol is not too well hidden. Fruits, spices again and candi sugar make up the flavors but they are crushed by alcohol. Average.

Bottle (330 ml). Slightly hazy golden/copper with a small fully lasting white head and little lacing. Aroma is of belgian yeast, spices, herbal/floral notes, spices, light salty presence and fruits. Taste is moderately sweet with spices, herbal/floral notes, malt, light candi sugar and a moderate alcohol warming. Medium body. Good carbonation. Good Belgian Strong Ale (almost a Quad). It’s not as deep and complex as the best Belgian, but it’s quite an enjoyable brew. Good beer!

33cl Bottle @ Spytighen Duvel, Turnhout. Hazy darker blond coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a small dense white head. Strong sweet yeasty hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. FInish is sweet almost vanilla yeasty sweet hinted. Ok.

33cl bottle Geers, BB 10/2014. - Interesting case: a Belgian strong ale torn between old sweet&fruity, yeast-dominated tripel traditions and convincing innovative dry hopping and a dry malt base. Typical Belgian yeasty nose of indeed peaches, even sweeter exotic fruits like maracuja and pineapple. Slight hint of booze, however not betraying the nearly 10%. Palate is both minimally old-school syrup-sticky and dry and bitter. great pronounced EU hop character, imparting prolonged bitter and astringent aftertaste.
I would wish this amount of peppery and grassy hops in more Belgian beers. Not quite an instant favourite, but I started to enjoy this one more as it warmed, interesting mix of brewing traditions and flavours.

Pours in orange hazy body with mountain of head. Aroma shours of honey, raisins and oak. Taste is sweet with summer fruits. Too much alcohol for my taste, unbalanced bitterness in the after taste. Body is huge with fair bottle carbonation.
