3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Van Pernis, Arnhem. Almost black pour with a good white head. Stout notes in the aroma with some coffee. Coffee, burned malts, liquorice and a touch of salt in the taste. Never ate oysters so canít judge how the oyster hints are in this brew. Nevertheless, very nice Stout with a gentle tasty hint of salt.

Like the name suggests, the brewing process involved oysters... try it before judging it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Been looking for my notes on this for a while now, a tasting from way back in Jun 2008.
Will do this on notes alone so a little all over the show!
íTawny, brownish black body, brown in the shallows and murky. Big frothy, creamy tan head, held out for a while before receding, laces well. Deep, dark, chocolate, milky, mud-cake nose, nicely rounded, thick, light spice and warming, some toffee and brine, late hit of dark berries and charred wood. Smooth, velvety, slightly powdery mouthfeel, touch of oyster water precedes. Nice roundness of complex malts. Body is medium and it fills the mouth well. Rich, dark bitter/sweet chocolate with a milk chocolate edge. Light break in of burnt wood, a little burnt malt tannins. Slightly salty length of dark and deep malts, a little peat, ash, vanilla bean. Good drinking, enough complexity to savour each sip. Easily a dessert beer, not for the likings of your average. Very enjoyable Stoutí - (33cL, BBE 08, International Beer Store W. Leederville)

itís hard to find any oyster taste, if you didnít know it was an oysterstout you probably would not have tasted it. Creamy stout with some sweetness, might be my favorite beer from de Scheldebrouwerij. Had this at a friendís place, who got it in one of those beersubscriptions.
