(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Black colour with firm pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with underlying fruit and notes of blueberries, tobacco and chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with blueberries, liqourice, chocolate, hints of tar, smoke and soy sauce. Some sweetness coming through in the rather short finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice taste, but wouldn’t suffer from some extra punch.

Near black colored, slight red hints. Little light brown head. Strong and dominating chocolate in aroma with sweet toffee tones, licorice and roasted coffee. Medium bodied. Flavor is more roasted with coffee and mild chocolate, some hops also there. Aftertaste dries with nice hops and bitterness, mild alcohol also there.

sayravai (4691) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 1, 2007
(Bottled, 1st rating of 2007) Almost black with a smallish, lemonadey and fading head. Roasted, neutral, slightly stuffy aroma with salty licorice hints. Doesn’t reveal the ABV. Roasty-salty, sweetish-malty flavor with dried fruit and an ashy-roasty-salty finish. Hides the alcohol excellently. Medium-bodied, somewhat fizzy and surprisingly thin palate. A very easily drinkable stout (for the ABV) with a pleasant flavor, but quite thin and fizzy palate. Probably needs seafood with it to really shine.

MPA (866) - Amager (form. Nørrebro&Aalborg), DENMARK - DEC 3, 2006
Bottle. Reddish with light dark glow. Malty aroma with sweet caramel and dark fruits. Flavour of raisins, figs and alcohol that gives a good warmth. Not very complex though.
