(Bottled, 1st rating of 2007) Almost black with a smallish, lemonadey and fading head. Roasted, neutral, slightly stuffy aroma with salty licorice hints. Doesn’t reveal the ABV. Roasty-salty, sweetish-malty flavor with dried fruit and an ashy-roasty-salty finish. Hides the alcohol excellently. Medium-bodied, somewhat fizzy and surprisingly thin palate. A very easily drinkable stout (for the ABV) with a pleasant flavor, but quite thin and fizzy palate. Probably needs seafood with it to really shine.

Bottle. Reddish with light dark glow. Malty aroma with sweet caramel and dark fruits. Flavour of raisins, figs and alcohol that gives a good warmth. Not very complex though.

The weirdest stout that I have ever ever drank. pours a very very dark brown that is evidently not brown when you hold it up to the light. The aroma is sweet licorice and anise. The flavor is very quite sweet and really lacks balance. Its more like a porter gone wrong than any stout that i have ever tasted. Also it is pretty alcholic tasting I think that’s where some of the sweetness is coming in. Lacks body as well. Its really not a good stout. Pretty gross stuff.

Bottle at house. Black coloured, sweet, chocolatey taste. Generous head. Tasty. Difficult to note the oyster shells. Vanella and chocolate taste. A real treat.

Cola colour with a big, foamy head, Sweet, malty and vinuous aroma. Flavour includes some dark chocolate and aniseed. Slight coffee bitterness in the aftertaste, but mostly the finish is just alcohol.
