0.33 l bottle. Looks like cola, very sparkling. Roasted, sweet and sour aroma with salty licorice and some meaty aged notes. Malty, sweet, biscuity, toffeish and cola-like flavor with strong licorice notes, figs and raisins.

dark chocolate and quickly dissapearing head... the chocolate is the strongest ive had for a stout yet, but at the expense of other subflavors... thats not necessarily a bad thing though... good stout

$5 330mL bottle from Takanaya. Musty yeasty aroma, I think from autolysis. Maybe a little milk smell. Deep rich dark caramel color. Little head, except for medium size bubble at the edge of the glass. Medium body. Not too sweet or dry. A little bit of a sour finish.

Bottle, IBS, Perth Amazing funky, spicey choclately aroma, coupled with a complex, malty, caramel and grainy falvour, make this an absolute standout. Grab it if you can.

Pours a dark opaque brown, almost black. Not much foam & little lacing. Great roasty liqourice aroma & taste, with some dark chocolate, espresso, coconut, plus loads more. Long, sweet & assertive finish with good roasty bitterness in the back. Medium/light body, well carbonated. A pleasant surprise.

Cloudy brown, I could probably have let this settle for a few more days. Small, rapidly shrinking head. Rather sweet and malty, not much of the brown toast or burned grain you usually find in a stout. A little liquorice and fennel. Easy-drinking, with a warming alcohol finish. Nyt a typical stout, but a nice beer.

Draft at De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Belgian yeast in the aroma and flavor as well. The beer is black. Thick and heavy on the palate. Flavor has some coffee and milk. Oatmeal in the finish. Easy to drink and a surprising alcohol kick that one doesn’t expect from the smooth, mild flavor.

Nice stour. Black/brown colored brew. Roasted flavor. Could use some more bitterness.
