Roasted, sweet and sour aroma with salty licorice and some meaty aged notes. Malty, sweet, biscuity, toffeish and cola-like flavor with strong licorice notes, figs and raisins. Maybe a little milk smell. Deep rich dark caramel color. Little head, except for medium size bubble at the edge of the glass. Medium body. Not too sweet or dry. A little bit of a sour finish. sinkas (182), Perth/Fremantle, Australia

Amazing funky, spicey choclately aroma, coupled with a complex, malty, caramel and grainy falvour, make this an absolute standout. Grab it if you can. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2007 Pours a dark opaque brown, almost black. Not much foam & little lacing. Great roasty liqourice aroma & taste, with some dark chocolate, espresso, coconut, plus loads more. Long, sweet & assertive finish with good roasty bitterness in the back. Medium/light body, well carbonated. A pleasant surprise. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 10, 2007 Cloudy brown, I could probably have let this settle for a few more days. Small, rapidly shrinking head. Rather sweet and malty, not much of the brown toast or burned grain you usually find in a stout. A little liquorice and fennel. Easy-drinking, with a warming alcohol finish. Nyt a typical stout, but a nice beer. JK (2968), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Draft at De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Belgian yeast in the aroma and flavor as well. The beer is black. Thick and heavy on the palate. Flavor has some coffee and milk. Oatmeal in the finish. Easy to drink and a surprising alcohol kick that one doesn’t expect from the smooth, mild flavor. NoiZe (1382), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands
