Poured a cloudy deep brown with a thin beige head. Aroma of sticky sweet malt with a touch of spice. It’s very sweet, verging on cloying. In fact more than verging, it is cloying. Quite full bodied, but too sweet. Wouldn’t pick this as a stout.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a Snifter. Near black with thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark, dried fruits, coffee, herbal hops, berries, chocolate and salty liquorice. Taste is bitter. Full body with a very creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and herbal bitter with chocolate and salty liquorice. Very enjoyable Belgian (!) Imp. Stout.

Très bonne stout très particulière vu qu’on parle d’huîtres!
Une de mes préférées même s’elle reste quand même un peu trop douce.

Dark brown with a small yellowy top. Roasted malts, candi sugar, some salt liquorice, latte, dried prunes. Medium to long finish, mostly sweet and creamy, dry.

When I just began studying beers, I read - at first with a certain scepticism - about an 18th century British tradition of adding oysters or ground oyster shells to stout, but I never thought I’d ever taste an oyster stout till this crossed my path, at a meeting with the brewer right after they had moved to Belgium. Yellow beige, thin and opening head, very dark burgundy colour, near black and only allowing light to shine through at the edges, slightly hazy. Aroma of toasted bread, old sherry, dried plums, candied dates, pipe tobacco, candi sugar, coffee powder and perhaps a very faint salty touch, but so faint I cannot rule out the possibility of autosuggestion. Dry palate with dark fruits, caramelly and nutty malts in the middle, quickly overwhelmed by a strong, coffee-like roasted bitterness, soft and mouth-filling, as well as a somewhat sticky candi sweetness. I could not really find any echoes of the sea... Not sure if I should consider that a disappointment, though.
