Pours black with an abundant dark beige foam. Aroma of rich roast and initially a metallic note, which gives way to a dark fruit aroma as it warms up. Taste is dense with roastiness (coffee), dark fruits (cherry) and a subtle note of saltiness from the oysters. Bitterness from malts and hops is well balanced. One of my favorite dark beers.

Pours a deep, nearly opaque dark-chocolate brown with a fairly thick dirty light tan head. Strong aroma fills the nose with roast malt, molasses and caramel plus hints of yeast and chocolate. Rich flavor has smoky, malty, molasses, caramel and yeasty tones - just plain scrumptious! Body seems a bit thin for a stout, but it has plenty of fizz and leaves a nice, smoky, slightly sweet finish. Don’t clam up - open one of these!

Really great stout with a chocolate-fruit flavor, a very dark brown color to it and smooth, mellow buzz.

Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. They seem to hype up the fact that it is filtered over oyster shells, but I’m not sure what this does for the beer. As just a stout, it’s solid--dark, strong, and somewhat sweet.

Fles 33cl. Donkere kleur. Witte schuimkraag. Eerste smaakimpressie : wauw! Koffie, stout achtig, zee smaak, licht bittertje, fris, flinke afdronk. Heerlijk!

Wow, surprised more people didn't like this one. Starts out with a cold milk chocolate aroma, like pulling a Hersey bar out of the freezer and sticking it up your nose, but pleasant in this beer. Very Dark brown in color, a little light for a stout but this beer was so good I can't complain. Very soft with an incredibly creamy chocolate charecter with roast comming at half time. Late bitterness with lots of flavor oozing from this one. Very enjoyable and made me think of Double Cream Stout

Bottle conditioned. Jet black, good lasting beige head and good condition. Licorice and roast barley mingled with coffee in the nose, quite soft but full bodied and malty with lots more sweet licorice that lingers into the long finish, turning dry and roasty at the end. Deserving of wider attention, like most of the Scheldebrouwerij beers Ive tried.
