Warning! Early amateur rating! An eye watering Ł8 pint in Lowlander, Aldgate. Very fruity and non bitter stout. Even palate (not too thick or thin). Very very drinkable.

Really dark brown color with one finger off white head. Aroma of molasses, rum, sea water, roasted malts, cold coffee, chocolate. Taste is light sweet, just a bit salty, light to medium bitter. Mineral flavor, yumamy like. Light body, oily to creamy texture, average to lively carbonation. Not bad, but kinda weird tasting aftertaste.

Excellent stout. Very smooth and creamy. Roasted malt and chocolate. Good balance. Not sure what the filtering over oyster shells adds though.

Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Very nice bottle design. Pours deep black with fine creamy brown head. Smell has licorice, burnt malts and coffee. Starts with sweet caramel malts, sugary, with some burnt coffee notes. The middle part is very sugary-sweet, slight roasted with coffee and chocolate notes, some vanilla in the background. Goes into a malty-sweet finish with lots of vanilla icecream, chocolate and bitterish coffee.

I expected a little more. It’s quite bland and boring actually. It’s the usual stout flavor profile, but without the flavor. I know many better stouts. The only thing that makes this stand out a little is the typical Scheldebrouwerij salty (seawater) flavor added to it. Which works in some of their beers, but not in all of them.

Bottle at Monks. Opaque brown pour with a frothy tan head. Dark and sweet. Liquorice. Molasses. Can definitely taste the oysters. Feels like a variation of a Roquefort 10 (believe it or not). Warms up to a little dark red pit fruit. Slight peat. Leather. Medium body. Really good stuff.

Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with huge copper head. Nose is low on dark malt. Aroma is very roasted and coffee like with a vinous like note, dry, over riped grapes, licorice, slightly salted ? Interesting kind of stout.

Gerbeer (891) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 21, 2013
330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with red hints and large head. Aromas of heavily roasted malts, vanilla, café au lait, and light sour fruit. Flavors of watery black coffee, vanilla, ash, and perhaps some dark fruit. Oily and warm.
