MartinT (4241), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 16, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Nearly crisp straw malts balance our the minutious herbal, citrusy hoppiness, but yeast tends to obfuscate this simple Belgian-style Ale’s flavor profile and finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the cloudy pale golden.
-1/3 of the bottle is yeast! A little overdone in the bottle conditioning...It’s indeed hard to avoid the yeast when pouring yourself a glass.
-The body is pleasantly healthy.
-The yeast brings forth doughy flavors.
Bottle; best before June ’09.
acrdz (4148), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 4, 2008 Bottle at Depass in the Hague. Hazy light wit yellow colored body. Nose resembles a light saison of abbey single, flavor is light wheat and zesty lemon, nose is similar. Some tartness, very mild, from the yeast, then a light dryness and some richness builds on the tongue. Not bad. gam (471), brisbane, Australia Jun 1, 2008 Thin but good head on an orange pour mild carbonation.Aroma perfumed fruity, herb, malt.Flavour melon coriander, nice bitter touch.Other tastes are orange and mild clove. This is different a very nice flavoured ale on the palate.Finish full fruit and mixed flavours, sweet bright. beerbuzzmontreal (2674), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 26, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Decent aroma of honey, yeast and hops. The flavor is also ok, but not exciting, there’s some hops, yeast and honey. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. Not bad overall, but tends to go on the boring side. Boutip (1725), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Apr 17, 2008 Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of Saaz and Hallertau hops is dominating and providing some light floral and dry notes. Taste is a mix between some dry and lightly bitter notes of European hops with a semi-sweet Belgian-style malt profile. Fuller body then the average beer with good carbonation. While this is a well crafted beer with some refreshing notes I thought it was slightly too dry.
