3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ALLOVATE (2108) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - JUN 15, 2012
Tasting from 2009. Pours a cloudy, pinkish apricot, pastelly and cloudy with fine carbonation and lots of it. Biggest, baddest whipped up head of cream I have ever seen. Settled a good two inches out the brim in an awkward and leaning phallus shape that needed to be hacked off with a blunt object. An absorbing fruit nose that was reminiscent of my childhood, summer holidays and purchasing Berri™ fruit popsicles from the corner deli. The mix of candied, cherry icecream and blackcurrant fruit yoghurt is sultry in this one, not at all akin to beer. The flavour is more subdued than the aroma effuses, yet it still oozes fruit and fruit esters. Tart cranberry and cherry with pronounced blackcurrent sweetness adding a tangy edge. The body light and the carbonation high giving it the mouthfeel of a Rosé spritzer. Long fruity sweet and tangy finish. There’s not much else here. It is delicious, like in the way fruit juice mixed with Champagne is delicious. A strange one! (33cL, BBE 12/09, Int’l Beer Store, W. Leederville)
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 brugmanneke (223) - GERMANY - JAN 14, 2012
(33 cl bottle) Bright red color, hazy, very small head. Smells intensely of blackcurrant, no surprise here, like fruit gums. Aroma is very fruity, taste is lightly bitter and luckily not sweet. As a fruity, thirst-quenching summer drink, I like it very much. Could get used to it. As a beer, not so much, since only the light bitterness and the yeasty haze remind me that I have a beer before me. I don’t get much maltiness of hop aroma out of it.

Bottle@Home. Cassis aroma. Red, hazy, pinkish head, fair lace. Cassis with cherry pits mixed with water. Just bad actually.

Aromas of berries, and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is a subdued berry taste, not a big as I expected. Finishes like a berry tootsie roll pop. Surreal taste, quite remarkable. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kappldav123 (3760) - Markkleeberg, GERMANY - SEP 23, 2011
Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass red as cherry juice, small head. Intense fruity-berry aroma. Starts mild-fruity, modest sourish, not as intense as the aroma. Woody-prickly notes. Finish well balanced, mild, modest fruity. Quite drinkable. Interesting beer!
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 MrHangover (1101) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUL 24, 2011
I really did not like this beer. It was like cassis without sugar and carbon. The colour was bright pink and aroma really had some good going on, but the taste was not that good. Maybe it was an off bottle or something, but my friends expierenced the same. Flavour was really sour with a bitter finish. Not nice.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Benzai (4349) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - JUL 12, 2011
I did not have any expectations of this beer after I had read it contained different sort of berries. But it wasn’t as bad as I had thought or feared maybe. I didn’t like the smell, but the color was good and taste pretty decent.

This beer was a weird experience. Colour was pretty nice. Smelled great, very fruity, lovely. Taste: Lacking. Very watery, which is too bad since it smelled so nice.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Martinus (1795) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 8, 2011
Clear darker red colour, like a young red wine. Slight white head. Aroma of cassis, bit sweet, some light malts and spices. Flavour of blackcurrents, pleasantly astringent but bit thin. Light wheat tones, slight sweetness, light tartness. Slight vanilla tones. Finish cassis, rather short.
