Dark brown, slight haze. Very little foam, poor lacing. Smell of roast caramel malts. Sweet taste of malts with very fresh and pleasant finish.

Pours red with a beige persistant foam head. Nose is OK, a bit yeasty, with dark dried fruit notes and malt. Pharmaceutical and cartboard in mouth make that brew something weird.

gewoon onaangenaam

Dark brown, red glow, beige head. Sweet caramel malts, rather watery bock. Not impressive!

33cl bottle, BB 12/2016.

330ml bottle (Stockmann, Tallinn)
Starts a bit bready, but quickly veers in th direction of cake, even heading towards chocolate too and even some vanilla. Some sugary sweet esters, including banana, but alas some alcohol in the mix, but not boozy. A nice deep reddish brown, but a rather brief fizzy tan head. Palate remarkably thin, at least at this temperature - quite cold (6-7C?) - so I’ll take this slowly and let it warm up. Feels full though, but with the crisp carbonation it’s remarkably refreshing. It’s a little messy in the mouth, a touch earthy and dirty, some yeastiness is part of that. Fills out with more fruity esters as it warms, something quite appley or even cidery about it because of the alcohol that’s also there. Not grabbing me, too much alcohol, not enough good old fashioned bock fun.
