Flavor is of liquorice, some ripe banana, a touch of plums and burnt suga/ caramel. Nice but a bit rough. Medium mouthfeel, flavorfull and warming. Really drinkable, finishes a bit suddenly though. Slightly alcoholic aftertaste. Molasses aroma, although somewhat shy. Nice and drinkable bock. davidpl (393), Santiago, Chile Jul 4, 2008 Appearance: brown color with reddish notes. Great head, with beige color, lasting and consistent.
Aroma: to caramel malts and fruity smells similar to plums, berries and grapes. Light smoke note and vinous. Presence of a lactic smells, this remember me a sour ale.
Flavor: semi-toasted malty start, sweet progress (not sickly) of the caramel malts. Coffee and mocha reminiscences, too with a slight smoke notes. Nice fruitiness similar to raisins and ripe-plums. In the final take part a light sourness similar o yoghurt.
Palate: medium body and semi-oily texture. Low carbonation.
Remark: a Belgian version of a bock?. Balanced and with character. Taktik_MTL (1843), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Jun 9, 2008 Bouteille de 330 ml obtenue via Importations Privées Bièropholie. Pours clear, dark mahogany with a medium, creamy off-white head. Fizzes away rather quickly. Mild aroma with some slight caramel, toffee and fruitiness. Medium to high in carbonation. Flavour is sweet, some doughy character, light metallic off-note and good toffee. Light chocolate and hoppy finish. Okay. Ober (214), Best, Netherlands May 2, 2008 A dark red/brown colored ber. It has a nice beige foamed head. The aroma has aroma, caramel and some fruits in it. The taste is nice. a little sticky. It has also caramel. roasted malts. In my opion the plate is a little to tin. It’s an interesting and balanced bock.
