Commercial Description:
Witheer of Middelburg is produced on the base of a special historic recipe, which includes wheat and oatmalt, apart from the traditional barleymalts. These grains make the beer both tender and lively and the aromatic Spalt hop gives the beer a lightly bitter accent.

Bottle @ home. Hazy pale yellow, white head. Nose of citrus, yeast and spices. Flavour is citrus, wheat, some sourness. Dry mouthfeel.

...bottle from Cloudwine. Never seen this one before, so decided to give it a try. Chanpagne-like on the nose, with aromas of apple, and orange, with hints of the corriander. Lively carbonation, light yellow with tight bubbles, very small white head that diminished quickly. Mouthfeel was dryish, flavors were of wheat malt, and something weird that I suppose was the oatmalt and spalt hops, they are a good addition. Finish is dry, with lingering curaco and corriander, medium bodied. A good wit, and I will have this again, worth trying if you can find it.

Appearance: pale yellow color semi-cloudy. Medium, white and lasting head. Aroma: semi-sweet aromas from malts and fresh yeasty notes. Coriander’s spiciness that with the hoppy notes inject citric-fruity smells like grapefruit, lemon and pineapples. Also, is possible to find herbs and ginger reminiscences. Flavor: ephemeral malty start, progress of the yeast with banana’s and bread’s reminiscences. Fruitiness similar to oranges, grapefruits and pineapples. Continues with a lasting herbal spiciness from coriander. Light dry-hoppy with citric hints similar to lemon-peel. Some light ginger note. Yeasty aftertaste. Palate: light to medium body, some semi-oily and medium carbonation. Remark: refreshing and nice spiciness, balanced beer but some common into the Belgian witbiers.

Bottle, April 08. Hazy yellow color with a medium, bubbly, white head. Spicy, slightly phenollic aroma with some coriander notes. Spicy phenollic flavor with some citric notes. Some minerals and a salty finish. Medium to light palate, refreshing but a bit astringent. Ok, rather rough wit.
