JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Oct 3, 2008 Big bubbles to disparate white head over hazy orange beer. Faint spicy & wheaty nose. Lots of citrus, citrusproducts, perfumey. Again citrus & spices (coriander, paradise seed, peppery). But generally speaking low-profile and watery. Very heavily carbonated, spritzy, even CO² acidity, like a sof drink/pop. Hmm. Nothing wrong, but VERY lame. Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium Sep 25, 2008 Bottle, 33 cl. Tasted sunday 14.09.’08 @ home (bought Willems).
Bottle, 33cl.
Cloudy yellow, good white head.
Aroma bit citrus, coreander and lyeast. . Medium body.
Taste sweet, lemon-citric, wheat, coreander, little bitterness.
Good. CapedBrewsader (260), Brasschaat, Belgium Sep 8, 2008 33cl bottle at home: Hazy pale yellow with no real head. Large bubbles coming up but quickly bursting. Aroma of fresh wheat-bread dough. Light spice, or almost rye, character behind the dough. As the dough mellows some lemon peel and coriander comes in. Maybe a hint of green apple too. Definite citrus on the tongue with sweet pale malts. Touch of red apple flesh (no skin). Wheat character has a slight delay then kicks in with full "doughy" force. Really big wheat-bread dough character at the end. Starts a bit watery sweet but dries out by the finish. Brown bread and some green twig notes left on the tongue. Borresteijn (1351), Amsterdam, Netherlands Aug 7, 2008 Bottle @ home. Hazy pale yellow, white head. Nose of citrus, yeast and spices. Flavour is citrus, wheat, some sourness. Dry mouthfeel. UnholyBrewing (448), Melbourne(Mulgrave), Australia Aug 4, 2008 ...bottle from Cloudwine. Never seen this one before, so decided to give it a try. Chanpagne-like on the nose, with aromas of apple, and orange, with hints of the corriander. Lively carbonation, light yellow with tight bubbles, very small white head that diminished quickly. Mouthfeel was dryish, flavors were of wheat malt, and something weird that I suppose was the oatmalt and spalt hops, they are a good addition. Finish is dry, with lingering curaco and corriander, medium bodied. A good wit, and I will have this again, worth trying if you can find it. davidpl (435), Santiago, Chile Jun 22, 2008 Appearance: pale yellow color semi-cloudy. Medium, white and lasting head.
Aroma: semi-sweet aromas from malts and fresh yeasty notes. Coriander’s spiciness that with the hoppy notes inject citric-fruity smells like grapefruit, lemon and pineapples. Also, is possible to find herbs and ginger reminiscences.
Flavor: ephemeral malty start, progress of the yeast with banana’s and bread’s reminiscences. Fruitiness similar to oranges, grapefruits and pineapples. Continues with a lasting herbal spiciness from coriander. Light dry-hoppy with citric hints similar to lemon-peel. Some light ginger note. Yeasty aftertaste.
Palate: light to medium body, some semi-oily and medium carbonation.
Remark: refreshing and nice spiciness, balanced beer but some common into the Belgian witbiers.
Fukito (604), Buenos Aires, Argentina Jun 22, 2008 Bottle, April 08. Hazy yellow color with a medium, bubbly, white head. Spicy, slightly phenollic aroma with some coriander notes. Spicy phenollic flavor with some citric notes. Some minerals and a salty finish. Medium to light palate, refreshing but a bit astringent.
Ok, rather rough wit. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia May 9, 2008 Sweet fruit malt aroma with raspberry and strawberry. Murky yellow colour with good head and lacing. Sweet fruit flavour with hint of malt and hops. Flat palate.
