COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schell Anniversary Draft Series #6, commemorating the day August Schell Brewing was found Not Guilty of Violating the 18th Amendment of the US Constitution. The 1924 Deer Brand incorporates two important indigenous American ingredients to create a unique version of the classic German Pilsner: 6-row Barley and Flaked Maize. Early American brewers discovered that by adding a portion of Maize to the high protein 6-row Barley a more palatable and stable beer could be produced. The 1924 Deer Brand is a recreation of the full-flavored American Lager your grandparents used to enjoy before and immediately following prohibition, exhibiting moderate maltiness, the complex character of our 1860 Schell yeast and a well-defined hop bitterness and flavor.

Tap at the Mad Capper - awesome joint! Clear and well carbonated with a faint white head. Clean aroma with a crisp flavor full of hops and light malts.

On tap at Washington Square Bar and Grill, White Bear Lake, MN. Pint served a chill hazed golden hue, with a modest, white, foamy head and ring of spotty lacing. The nose was light grain, malt, a hint of lemon zest and light floral/grassy hops. Ditto on the flavor with just a hint of malt sweetness dominated by a modest bitterness and dry, light peppery finish. Light, clean, and very sessionable.

On draught at the Happy Gnome in St Paul, MN. Pours a golden grain malty brew with a decent white head that slowly dissipates to a thin creamy white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, some white bread, sourdough bread dough, floral hops and a touch of alcohol. Taste is semi-sweet with flavors of golden grain malt, some bread dough and honey. Finish is semi-sweet, malty aftertaste with a French bread aftertaste that slowly disappears.
