COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schellís Arminius is named after the legendary chieftain of the Germanic Cheruscan tribe better known as Herman the German. Arminiusí united coalition of Germanic tribes famously defeated the Roman army some 2,000 years ago, and permanently established the border of Germany, which still exists today. The Herman Heights Monument, which sits atop the hill in New Ulm, overlooks the town and Minnesota River Valley below. His eastward looking gaze and upraised sword signify freedom from Rome. Schellís Arminius is a showcase of a unique blend of German, French, and American hops. Itís brewed with over 2.5 lbs of hops per barrel, and double dry hopped for a distinctly hoppy lager with wonderfully fruity and floral hop aroma. A clean malt bill combines with the crisp, smoothness that can only be achieved from a traditionally krausened lager, providing the perfect platform to highlight the hop character. Distinctively different, distinctively hoppy. Keep cold & drink fresh.

Can. Pours a nice clear gold with white head. Honey, biscuit, sweet hops. Great for the style, incredibly drinkable.

Can. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of straw and sweet grains with a hint of biscuit and a strong grass backbone. Flavor starts sweet with biscuit and grains but has a nice growing grass hop note.

Well this is a good brew. Nice hop aroma and really well balanced. Itís lighter overall and feel like it would be great on a warm summer day outside. Floral but a bit of citrus and no resin. Tasty overall!

Tap at New Bohemia. Smallish pint glass. Pale golden color with half finger of head. Not a lot of aroma...maybe a hint of hops. Taste reminds me of a double IPA with some slight sweetness but prevailing hops and funkiness. Alcohol presence is felt but not a strong negative. Pretty solid if unspectacular.

Aroma is yeast, floral hops and a mild hint of funk. The flavor is citrus, fruit, pale malts, hops, slightly funky and a tart/slight esters in the finish.

An unusual beer hard to shoehorn into any style. I almost want to call it a Czech pils, but it doesnít fit there. it seems they used an entirely ordinary yellow lager and hopped the hell out of it, and the result is an excellent beer. Lots of citrus and dry bitter hop flavors and aroma. Some earth, and a quick finish.

Can, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a very pale yellow with a medium sized head and decent lacing on the glass.

The aroma is distinctly similar to that lightly sweet/blueberry thing thatís going on in Grain Belt, except without any of the corniness, this is of course totally fine with me in every way. Itís certainly got some herbal and grassy happiness in there as well.

The flavor is nice, again with the blueberries... which is chill. Itís lightly sweet with a nice herbal bitterness, some fruity hop character, and some light grassiness. Overall though itís not overbearing in any way, just nice and hop forward without entering the IPL realm really.

Cool beer.

Pour out of 16 oz can, hazy orange-yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grass, floral, pine, some hints of biscuit, bread, slight yeast, touch of grainy notes. Taste is a mix of honey, grass, white fruit, some orange, pine into biscuit, finishing slightly sweet, slightly bitter.

Nice Citrus hop notes with some floral hoppiness and berry sweetness on the back of the palate. Light and crisp and very easy to enjoy.
