COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This legendary beer style has a richness of history to match its rich flavor. The beer was named in Einbeck, Germany during a city celebration where the strong dark beer was being served. It seems that a bock (the German word for goat) entered the grounds unseen. Soon after, one of the villagers was knocked to the ground. The bock was standing nearby and to this day it is still unclear whether it was the beer, or the bock, which leveled the villager.
Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, Cara Pils and Black malts, imported Hallertau and domestic Cascade hops.
Available January through April.

Bottle. Deep somewhat cloudy brown pour with a creamy off-white head. Nose is quite sweet - caramel and cherry. Medium palate with some body. Taste is cherry, malt, some caramel, and slight spice. Really good beer.

This beer has a nice darker amber color with a average head. The beer is sweet and malty with a light spicyness. Maybe a hint of sour fruit.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Frankfurter glass. Appearance: Rich chocolate brown with creamy off-white head. Aroma: Strong bready malt with cherry, chocolate, and metallic & spicy hops. Taste: Complex and rich malts with chocolate, bread, caramel, cherry and dark fruit. Turns spicy and slightly bitter at the end. Palate: Moderate carbonation, medium body that is very smooth, clean and almost creamy. Overall: Fantastic Bock that even rivals many Doppelbocks in terms of its malty punch. One of the very few German-style Bocks around with its pure barley malts (no wheat, adjuncts or spices) and its original gravity of 16+.

Too watery for the style and I have a hard time getting past that... cheers!

Pure sweetness in the malt that dominates. Not much hops but bocks aren’t supposed to have much hops, great standard bock.

Red-brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is sweet malt. Taste is slightly sweet, little roasted malt. Easy to drink.

Overall, just okay. Odd taste at finish... maybe like cloves? I like some bock, but this one doesn’t overwhelm.
