3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a reddish copper color with a good sized tan head, mostly dissipating. Nose is malt. Nice and creamy on the palate, this bock has a sweet flavor of caramel wrapped around the malt flavor. Tastes more like a dopplebock than a bock. Very good beer- pairs well with brats off the grill.

Good midwest bock. Great head nice lacing on the glass. Nice color a bit lighter in colour than most bocks. Taste nutty, sweet toffee carmel perhaps. Goes down easy, best ice cold/ the warmer it gets it becomes more of an english brown ale. Boy this is a good beer. Thank you Schells.

Bottle in hotel room, picked up at a Hy-Vee in Lincoln, NE. Pours a dark copper appearance with a tan head. Somewhat nutty, dark toffee, caramel malty, hay, somewhat fruity aroma. Nutty, rich caramel malty, a bit fruity flavor that is a bit overly sweet.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle - Pours dark amber with a nice foamy light tan head. Nice sweet, bready, malty nose. Lots of toffee notes. Dark bread shows itself more in the taste, big pumpernickel notes, along with a subtle herbal hoppiness. A bit too sweet for my liking, but it’s pleasant enough. A little too much carbonation and a bit syrupy--detracts a bit. Overall a decent beer, though too sweet..

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Frankfurter glass.
Appearance: Rich chocolate brown with creamy off-white head.
Aroma: Strong bready malt with cherry, chocolate, and metallic & spicy hops.
Taste: Complex and rich malts with chocolate, bread, caramel, cherry and dark fruit. Turns spicy and slightly bitter at the end.
Palate: Moderate carbonation, medium body that is very smooth, clean and almost creamy.
Overall: Fantastic Bock that even rivals many Doppelbocks in terms of its malty punch. One of the very few German-style Bocks around with its pure barley malts (no wheat, adjuncts or spices) and its original gravity of 16+.
