COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This legendary beer style has a richness of history to match its rich flavor. The beer was named in Einbeck, Germany during a city celebration where the strong dark beer was being served. It seems that a bock (the German word for goat) entered the grounds unseen. Soon after, one of the villagers was knocked to the ground. The bock was standing nearby and to this day it is still unclear whether it was the beer, or the bock, which leveled the villager.
Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, Cara Pils and Black malts, imported Hallertau and domestic Cascade hops.
Available January through April.

12. oz bottle. Pours clear red amber color with a tight foamy soapy off white beige head that dissipates to a film and collar. Aroma has caramel some fruit and malt. Taste is more the same with some hidden bitterness and minerals and nuttiness. Palate is medium and slick with a chalky dry finish. Nice beer.

Pours a reddish copper color with a good sized tan head, mostly dissipating. Nose is malt. Nice and creamy on the palate, this bock has a sweet flavor of caramel wrapped around the malt flavor. Tastes more like a dopplebock than a bock. Very good beer- pairs well with brats off the grill.

Good midwest bock. Great head nice lacing on the glass. Nice color a bit lighter in colour than most bocks. Taste nutty, sweet toffee carmel perhaps. Goes down easy, best ice cold/ the warmer it gets it becomes more of an english brown ale. Boy this is a good beer. Thank you Schells.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, fruittiness and light brown sugar. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, fruittiness and light earthiness with a crisp lingering malty finish.

Bottle in hotel room, picked up at a Hy-Vee in Lincoln, NE. Pours a dark copper appearance with a tan head. Somewhat nutty, dark toffee, caramel malty, hay, somewhat fruity aroma. Nutty, rich caramel malty, a bit fruity flavor that is a bit overly sweet.

Bottle - Pours dark amber with a nice foamy light tan head. Nice sweet, bready, malty nose. Lots of toffee notes. Dark bread shows itself more in the taste, big pumpernickel notes, along with a subtle herbal hoppiness. A bit too sweet for my liking, but it’s pleasant enough. A little too much carbonation and a bit syrupy--detracts a bit. Overall a decent beer, though too sweet..
