COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since 1860, Schell’s Bock meant spring was around the corner. And until recently, tradition and climate dictated the seasonality of Bock beers. Today, with the ability to control strict brewing environments, we’re able to usher in a new tradition—August Schell Caramel Bock, available year-round.
This medium-bodied, dark copper beer sports a light caramel flavor with a hint of malt sweetness. We figured beer drinkers aren’t seasonal, so why should beer be?

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 From memory, this beer is very reminiscent of Killian’s, basic caramel flavor, no surprise, but with a sweetness that is a little thin and annoying, not a bad lager, but not one I’ll have again if they start carrying it in my area again.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2010 From the sample pack. Had a really nice flavor, but too much of it seemed to be the problem.

Have had this on tap and from the bottle. Not a bad entry from an otherwise mediocre brewery.

Pours a nice deep brown with a good light tan head and good lace. Te aroam is nutty and malty sweet. The flavory has nice roasty and nutty notes with of course, plenty of caramel. Certinally not overly sweet. The texture is nicely creamy.

Forgotten for some time in the fridge. Removed today to make a bread. Caramel. Soda. Bit of Pepsi in there. Still carbonated. Ok. At best, ok.

Courtesy of Juart. Pours a clear deep copper color. A thick beige head that sticks around for a few minutes and leaves a little bit of lacing. The aroma has a lot of caramel, with a sort of sour acidic quality to it. The flavor is pretty plain. A smooth malty flavor that leaves a sort of dry medicinal taste on my tongue. Medium body that works nicely with the tight carbonation. I agree that this is very drinkable, but it is pretty plain.

Redish brown in color. Small off white head. Spotty lacing. Picking up lots of caramel in the aroma. Body is pretty thin, almost watery. Very sweet tasting beer. Gets to be a bit much toward s the end. Drinkable beer but may not be something I’ll seek out again.

Light, sweet caramel smell with a taste quite the same. Not an overpowering flavor, and it finishes smooth and not too bitter.
