IlanMan (529), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jun 27, 2008 Decent amount of sweet caramel notes accompanied by light malt flavors. Not a bad beer. Something to drink casually. Probably not worth a second buy.
pj1855 (45), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Aug 6, 2008 Redish brown in color. Small off white head. Spotty lacing. Picking up lots of caramel in the aroma. Body is pretty thin, almost watery. Very sweet tasting beer. Gets to be a bit much toward s the end. Drinkable beer but may not be something I’ll seek out again. hero12 (40), USA Aug 4, 2008 Light, sweet caramel smell with a taste quite the same. Not an overpowering flavor, and it finishes smooth and not too bitter. SODAK14 (43), Rapid City, South Dakota, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pretty good beer. Despite it’s dark color it tastes more like a wheat beer to me. The initial taste is dark but after taste does not leave the bitter. Smooth dark beer but not one I would seek out. EHopper (129), Minnesota, USA Jul 26, 2008 Like so many Schell beers, drinkability wins out over complexity. And so bock becomes a thirst quencher. Enjoyable, dark sugar and malt aroma and flavor, a bit thin, but a beer I would always be happy to receive.
MatSciGuy (183), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 14, 2008 [Bottle] Pours clear brown with a smalish head. Subdued aroma of caramel malt, some raisins, and maybe a touch of hops. Flavor follows, and is fairly light and drinkable, but otherwise unnoteworthy.
