Pours out to an amber, not necessarily dark color in the glass. As with the other Schell offerings, this one has a very slight head. Little to no aroma other than fairly light malt. Taste is predominantly that of malt with a slight sweetness. Comparible to Michelob Amber bock crossed with a Killian’s Red. Average at best.

Decent dark lager with a good bit of roastiness along with decent malt flavor. Hints of corn sweetness in the finish. Hops barely detectable.

A largely weak and disappointing Dark beer. uncharacteristicly lacking in flavor and aroma. Sad.

Perhaps the weakest Schell beer on the market. Not really worth the extra $$$.

Totally unremarkable beer, and not worth the money when compared to any of Schell’s more upmarket brews. Dark in color, bland in taste.

The dark is misleading. Whilst not a bad beer, it lacks intensity. There’s a light sweetness to it, but the flavour is unremarkable. I drink it because it’s a good compromise between price and flavor. $2.25 for a 22oz draught here in town.

An American Dark, but a good one for that thankfully fading style. Very mild roast character with a clean and light body. Nothing offensive, but nothing worth seeking out.
