Pours a medium shade of brown with very small off-white head. Tastes of malts, caramel, some floral and metallic hints, and earthy tones. Well-balanced though not flavor.

Bottle courtesy of MatSciGuy. Pours copper with a small tan head. Smells earthy with some dark fruity hints. Tastes of roasted malt and spicy with some nice caramel hints on the finish.

Pours crisp copper brown wiht a decent beige head that has decent retention and a few specks of lacing. Aroma is biscuit, caramel, slightly floral and metallic. Flavor is watery, a little roast, some charred biscuit, plenty of adjunct- corn I guess, some floral hops toward the finish. Not a good beer.

Pours a dark reddish/brown with an unimpressive off-white head. Odd roasted malt aroma. There’s a sour vinegary character that’s difficult to define. Toasted malt taste that is crisp and unsweet. Not a bad beer, but a little odd. Overpriced for what you get.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pour was a decent enough brownish hue, mixed with lighter notes.. like a sweeter iced tea. Small tan head that dissipates practically completely and does not lace. Aromas are fairly malty, caramel biscuity toasted malts shine through. Taste is similar, a little burnt in parts, but a malt profile matching the nose. Finishes a touch bitter with a bit of hops. I’d have to agree on putting think in the American Dark Lager category. Decent, but not really my thing.

Light brown with a tiny white head. Aroma of dark malt, light toasted malt and mild nuts. Watery body has some caramel and dark malt properties to it and is too astringent for a dunkel, more like an American Dark Lager to me.

Decent brew, wasn’t expecting much and got what I expected. Aroma is yeast and barley, balanced nicely but doesn’t make you want to drink it. The appearance tho is fantastic, dark red/brown with a thick off white head. Flavor is malty with kind of boring barley, yeast and hops. Palate is also boring, no finish feel except slightly dry. Nothing I’ll ever drink again but was decent.

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2008 Interestingly, this is in a clear 12 oz bottle with a twist off cap. Pour is like root beer. Has a very yeasty aroma with possibly some malt olfactory too. Good initial carbonation. Malty flavors on the first taste. Flavor is quite interesting and there does not seem to be any offensive hop bitterness. The taste buds seem to pick up mostly malty and alky flavors, taste seems to have much more alky in it than the 4.8% listed here. Finish is somewhat roasty without being over the top and that alky malty hint hangs for a while after the session.
