1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Light brown color, very little aroma. It is very hard to taste the dark malt.
Appears to be a cheap adjunct beer with very little dark beer character.
Another disappointment from Shell´s.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pretty decent session beer. Really drinkable like most Schell’s beers. Sweet caramel with a light bitterness. The ’Firebrick’ is better, try that.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours amber brown in color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild toasted malt, light caramel, light cocoa, some earth, seems like a watered down porter, nothing really bad just flat and boring.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a brown color with off-white head. Caramel and roasted malts on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more malt. Light bodied for a dark beer.

Not sure what to make of this. It is different. I bought a couple of bottles on a whim. Really, really sweet. Its OK, I guess, but I doubt I will buy it again.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle, pours a dark ruby amber. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is toasted grain and dark malt, a bit watery.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This is such a strange beer for any sort of respectable beer geek. I guess it fills a niche, this is the sort of beer that a pale lager drinking grandpa would drink a few times per year when he was feeling exotic.
It’s not really ’dark’ - more just overly sweet tasting. It’s not awful, and with the right food pairing it might work. But it just comes across as adjunct forward and bland, without any depth really. "Fair to middlin"

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
The beer flavor and aromas are sadly lacking. This is about as bland as a dunkel can get. Tried at the brewery with Vaughn and Amanda.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thanks GV for the one. A pretty basic dunkel here. Dark brown, some roast notes but overall pretty subtle.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at The Red Goat in Cokato, Minnesota. Not much to report here. A bland, inoffensive, sweet, dark lager. To call it a dunkel seems a bit pretentious. Meh.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle into glass at club w. pretty normal dark beer. No bells or whistles. It's ok.
