1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Onslow (924) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JAN 28, 2011Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Straw yellow typical lager look. Aroma of faint corn and grain. Flavor is inoffensive but bland - a little sweet grain, a hint of bitter in the finish (or maybe its may imagination....) Nothing bad but nothing good - meh, fuggetaboutit.

Pours a pale, clear yellow with a minimal white head. Aroma is grain and some sweet malt. Flavor is grain, corn, light, sweet malt, and grassy notes. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Better than most though still not great.

Not too much to say. It’s a pale yellow macro style lager. Decently malty. You can taste the corn. no hop profile to speak of. A pleasant easy drink, but uninspired.

Autumn Brew Review 2012. Deer Brand with Nelson Sauvin. Lager yeast, yellow color, but intensely hopped giving a good floral aroma and bitter flavor. Good palate, better than almost all other beers of this type.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 dekester1 (260) - Neenah, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 29, 2012
Poured a clear gold/yellow with minimum head and lacing. Nose was of sweet corn with a fruity hint. Corn predominates the taste with slight twist of pear in the mix and light hop finish. Palate was average and unexceptional. Overall, not a terrible brew but not as good as what I was expecting based on the average rating.

Old Midwest standard. Just had my first one in 10 years. Pours very light yellow color. I can’t believe how light this one was. Just a regular beer when I had it 10 years back still the same today. Nothing fancy, but it sure tasted good on a warm day. No head sweet pale finish. Again not much to it but it sure went down good. Nothing wrong with this one. Not as hearty as a Leinies but good in its own way for a midwestern standard beer. Prost Schells!

Straw color with very thin white head. Extremely faint aroma of malt. Taste is sweet malt with some corn and bread notes. Nothing much to get excited about here.

Since I grew up a few miles from New Ulm, MN, I’ve always enjoyed this one, given the macro alternatives. It is a good but unexceptional pale lager which I’ve enjoyed many times in the last 30 years. Pours a normal yellow with a small light head. Not much to smell. Aroma is mostly normal malt with an inoffensive taste of corn. No foul aftertaste. I still enjoy this one, which would be my everyday beer if I still lived in southern Minnesota. Don’t go out of your way to try this, but if it’s available it’s a good session beer

Tap. Clear light gold pour with almost no head. Actually a pretty decent malted grain nose and taste. Really good for the style.
