COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This all malt, Vienna-style lager is a real crowd pleaser! Roasted malts and imported hops give it a deliciously smooth malt taste backed by a light hop finish. Perfect for any occasion.

Thanks to Duane for this bottle. Poured a very transparent amber color. Sweet malt aroma, nothing else there to balance it though. Creamy mouthfeel at first, but it gives way to a watery finish. I can just barely taste the hops in the finish. This isn’t particularly bad, just not great either. This might be a good one to start a swill-drinking friend on.

Clear read amber color. Small diminishing head. Sweet malty flavor with a late aftertaste that is mildy soapy.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2006 The head was small and diminishing. The color was red and the body was clear. This was a smooth tasting beer with no bitter finish.

On Tap at The Copper Stein in MSP airport: Had I known this was a Vienna which as I just found out is similar to Oktoberfest’s I would have tried something else. Honestly, I could barely tell the difference between this brew and Schell’s Oktoberfest. I didn’t think it was anything special. A clear amber in color dominated by soft malts, fruits and chlorine/tin tastes. It has a creamy feel, but it is followed by a major cae of metallic mouth. Do you remember when you were a kid and you licked the bars at the playground. Just try Firebrick and you essentially get the same sensation, minus all the germs. Combine this metallic feel with a soapy taste and there you go. No thanks.

Clear reddish-copper. Nose dusty, some sweet caramel. Flavor not bad, some good hefty malty sweetness with caramel and a hint of bright fruit, but it’s a mite thin and has an unpleasant soapy character to it. Palate-wise, very nice, full, sticky, and creamy, excellent weight to it. Certainly not offensive, but the great heft of this one can’t quite cope with the vague mingling of astringency and dish soap lingering in the finish.

Orange-amber pour, with white head. Stinky malt aroma. Dry dusty old malt flavor. Finish doesn’t exist. This beer has no value.

Sampled at Brew Ha Ha 2005. Orange in color with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of rye and pumpernickel bread. Flavor is of course rye, corn husks, and wet hay - seems very "roughly" flavored, as if it would hurt to swallow it. Mildly carbonated.
