COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer is a traditional, German-style Gose (pronounced ďGose-uhĒ), using over 20 pounds of coriander spice in each brew. It has a bright lemon zest, coriander aroma and a slight saltiness that rounds out this new summer brew. The beer pours clear, golden orange in color, with a thick white foam head. A refreshingly light and citrusy tartness greets your palate, backed by a bready, wheat malt character.

Poured from a bottle. Very light, golden, transparent, with a slight head. Aroma is also very slight, a faint meadowy íGrain Beltí aroma, not enough to detect any other undertones. Likewise the taste has the a bit of the same meadowy Grain Belt when it first hits the taste buds, but the difference is then immediately revealed with a lemony yet slightly salty finish. So I do get the coriander and saltiness mentioned in the description, but it is not heavy, nor does it linger long. I am not qualified to say whether this is a faithful rendition of a Gose. Often, in cases like this it is a balancing act to create a mass producible facsimile of a beer style that remains reasonably true to traditional recipes and methods. How successful Schellís was at accomplishing this, I will leave for others to judge. I can say it is a pleasant beer. A good summer offering that I suspect will find its way to my patio often.

Best by 15SEP13 Light gold with a solid cap of dense white foam. Smells of coriander, salt, lemon pith, some grain and a little banana and clove. Flavor is nice and floral from the start, some gardenia, sweet honeydew and sweet pear. Some grain and banana. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and a wet finish. Nice beer, not quite the gose Iím used to, but nice.

Poured into a KŲlsch glass... this is actually a strikingly beautiful glass of beer, bright golden, perfectly clear with lots of tiny bubbles ascending into a big rocky white head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is mild & sort of clean... there is some doughiness to it, some lemon rind, and a good bit of coriander.

The flavor is crisp and very forward with coriander, perhaps a little too forward... but itís not an unpleasant flavor, and not one that eclipses the other flavors of the beer too awful much. The beer displays a nice level of soft bitterness throughout. The saltiness is really very low, as is the tartness... but both are detectable. Itís got a good light breadiness without being overwhelmingly yeasty. There is nothing especially exciting happening here, unless youíre a fiend for coriander... but itís all really well balanced and nicely put together... easy drinking but with enough flavor and subtlety to keep you thinking.

So what are people hating so much about this one? I canít find much offensive about it unless youíve got an aversion to coriander... which Iím sure lotís of folks have. But itís crisp and refreshing, itís easy to drink without any real flaws. Pretty enjoyable beer all together.

July 28, 2013 - bottle as an extra in trade. Clear golden pour with nice amount of thick head that lasted. Aroma was grain, coriander and citrus. Taste was bready, coriander, fruity / citrus, and lightly tart. Finish was mildly spicy and salty. Thin to medium bodied and light carbonation.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-amber color with a large fluffy-foamy orange-white head that faded and left decent lacing. The aroma was a bit tart, salty and bready. The flavor was tart citrus, coriander and salt - nicely mixed and with a pleasant subtlety - with an undertone of bread and Sprite soda. Medium finish of Sprite, salt and bread. Medium body. Pleasant.

Not sure if this is a Gose, but I enjoyed it for whatever it is. Basically a nice refreshing lager with some unique citrus and coriander notes. Nothing groundbreaking, but I could see myself drinking this during the summer months. Solid.

Clear rich gold with a frothy head, light lacing. Aroma of citrus-/orange maybe, corriander. Some mineral.Pretty refreshing smelling. Taste is smooth, tangy, with some sharp citrus orange-spice-crisp bite to it. Has some foamy body to it but still drinks light crisp, some spice brisk finish.Crisp, not much salt, maybe a soft mineralness to it. Not really what I would call a great session beer but its ok.Not familar with the style yet either, first gose beer for me I think.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan body. Mild, malty, macro-ish, grainy aroma. Medium to light bodied, very easy drinker. Some upfront bitter herbal zestiness leads into a clean, balanced finish. The base malt just doesnít really taste that quality, and this beer sort of lets the malt shine. Very cool to see them attempt the style, but this isnít such an impressive offering.
