COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schell’s Hefeweizen is made with 60% wheat malts and 40% barley malt. We use an authentic wheat beer yeast culture, which gives the beer a fruity ale character dominated by a citrus-like tartness. A slice of lemon is traditionally served with this type of wheat beer.
Ingredients: 60% Wheat and 40% Pale malts, domestic Cascade, and Mt. Hood hops.

Cloudy yellow-gold pour with a 1 finger, creamy white head that quickly fades to a skim. Aroma is somewhat sharp banana, bubble gum, sweet doughy wheat, a hint of vanilla and a little floral and citrus hops. Flavor is banana and sweet wheat up front, then some bubble gum a little clove and a weird dishwater note that I normally only get from American Wheat Ales, some light clove, toast and then citrus and floral hops along with a lingering sweet wheaty note to the finish. Light body, creamy to slick feel throughout, with a light to medium, blanketing and somewhat sharp carbonation. Pretty average for an American made Hefe.

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a hazy yellow with a smallish head.

The aroma is doughy, citrusy, spicy, and has some mild sulphur. It skips a lot of the sweeter fruitier notes that some hefeweizens have, but that’s fine.

The flavor is spicy with some mild lemon and banana fruitiness. The sweetness is mild, on all accounts this one is pretty dry all around. It’s got a little bit of whole grain breadiness, some spicy hops, and a touch of doughy character.

Really not bad.

Cloudy lemon body, huge foamy white head and nice lacing. To me I get a bit of lemon in the aroma, and biscuit and banana. Taste is nice sweet banana, but I thought it could be a bit more intense, some citrus as well and vanilla. Very lively palate. Nice hefeweizen.

This is a world class hefe. Big banana aromas and flavors. That’s about it.. Some toasted wheat in there too. Hefeweizens are supposed to be about the sweet grains and banana and clove notes and this one hits a homerun.

Really an amazing example of a true German Hefeweizen. Even better -- it's fresh! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Attractive cloudy yellow-gold with tall sudsy head. Aroma is fruity with some spice and funk. Taste is wheaty, yeasty, spicy, sweet, fruity and even some slight sour. Light banana and clove. Creamy mouthfeel. Light but has substance. Easy drinking. I love German Hefs in the middle of summer and this may be the best I’ve had. Surly the freshest I’ve had. Close to as good as it gets for the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy straw yellow golden color with white head. Bananas, cloves, wheat, and some spice on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with some yeast.
