3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheDean (786) - MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 18, 2003
Well I rated this yesterday, and somehow my rating disappeared. That sucks! Oh well, this isn't my origional review (or states for this beer), but I was drunk last night, and I don't remember them now. All youneed to know is Schell's beer is damn good.
3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 NeonLX (261) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 18, 2003
From a bottle. As others described, this pours a cloudy, light straw color. The head is initially large but it settles down fairly quickly. I drank this side by side with Hacker-Pschorr's Hefe Weisse and was impressed with how close Schell's version approached in taste. Plenty of cloves & banana here. However, Hacker Pschorr's Hefe Weisse had the edge with a creamier, smoother mouthfeel. Both are very good beers in my opinion.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Slick (1971) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - JUL 19, 2003
Cloudy straw color, small super fast dissipating head.Wheat aroma with a slight citrus and spicey note.Sweet taste with a nice citrusy taste as well spicey and mildly hopped.Slight sour tang to it but nothing to terrible. The after taste is slightly sour citrus with a bit of hops thrown in.with the feel being in the slightly above thin range. Not a bad brew definately worth trying.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 erway (1004) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - JUN 28, 2003
Off the tap at the Minn/St. Paul airport. Pours a cloudy straw color with a fluffy head. Lacking the typical banana aromas that are typical of the style. The body is somewhat thin and this is definitely not a great hefeweizen but it's certainly a refresher nonetheless.
1.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 Crit (3089) - New Westminster, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 27, 2002

Cloudy golden color. Lemon and hops smell. Tastes kind of like grapefruit. A bit of tartness helps make this interesting.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 JPDIPSO (4956) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 25, 2002
From the history of this brewery I wish I could have tried this beer 100 years ago. Todays version is a typical american stlye weiss. Lacks spicy/banana aromas and flavors. Very light in color and even lacks a head.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 brownalegirl (199) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - JUN 23, 2002
I really like the Schell brewery especially the amazing alt, so trying this one in a little weizen test was a no brainer. It had the least body of the three I tried, allowing its very small flavour a lot of room in the palate. I ended up not being completely satified but at least recognizing the attempt.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2002
Well this was a new one for me and I thought I was pretty familar with Schell’s beers. New for RateBeer, too. Anyway, i had it on tap at the Clarkston Union and was impressed by a nice combination of weiss subtleties - citrus and spice - but not with the overly weak body. It also seems to have been filtered ...
