Lakemaid Beer is a limited release brew from August Schell Brewing Company and Rapala. Brewed in Schell’s old world tradition, this classic American lager is a crisp, clean, refreshing beer, specially brewed to capture the flavor of the fishing country were the legendary Lakemaids swim. With a mild malt flavor like a soft summer breeze and the sparkle of hops that dances like sun on the water, this is the ice cold beer with a taste so good it proves that great fishermen never need to exaggerate.

Extra thanks to Wankerweasel. Pours clear with a white head that faces quickly. Aromas of sweet corn, grain and mild hops. Flavor is similar with a nice crisp mildly fruity finish. A really decent lager that I could easily session.

Bottle - good size foamy head, medium straw color, sweet corn/malty aroma and flavor, fruity hop notes, not bad for a pale lager, a little too sweet though ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Finally found this sonofabitch as a single to purchase instead of a 12-pack, and I had to be in Nebraska to make that happen. Go figure. Pale watery gold pour with a small and quickly dissipating head. Little bit of corn on the aroma. Grainy, fairly sweet, and even a bit oily to the texture.

Not a bad brew, not a great brew, just somewhere in between. You could definitely drink this no problem but it just probably wouldn’t be your first choice...

This a pretty decent lager. It’s a bit on the sweet side which brings out some fruitiness from the hops and an apple note from the yeast. I could deal w/ it being a little dryer, personally, as I feel like it gets a bit heavy for the style--not that this is a high gravity beast or anything.

Not a bad lager. Mildly sweet with a light body and surprisingly substantive mouthfeel.

Just a really average beer that i find refreshing while basking in the sun in northern Minnesota. Not great, but good. grainy and a little malty and hoppy, thats it. slightly sweet, slightly bitter, pretty well balanced. Miss Walleye and sunfish always treat me well

Clear yellow/gold.Half inch head with frothy decending lacing.Well carbed. Aroma is sweet grain, corn maybe, slight noble grassy/floral.Very slight carmel/butter.Pretty good light aroma for a pale lager. Taste is fairly creamy with light carmel/butter notes, medium body, mellow sweet grain, corn and mineral notes. Pretty good alltogether taste. Nice mellow smooth finish slight citrus/raw plantygrassyness sorta pepper like in bittering. Smooth and mellow taste. Pretty good sessionable pale lager.I havent had any average/below average beers from Schell, pretty good beers in my opinion.
