jde123 (704), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 2, 2008 Bottle, part of a sampler pack, I did not enjoy this beer at all. Perhaps I don’t particularly enjoy Heller bocks, perhaps, because this beer is usually available in the Spring, and I bought it in the dead of Winter, it wasn’t that good. Effervescent and springy, like a diving board. Not great in a beer, but good in a diving board....although it looked good in the glass!
ahalloin (45), Arlington, Virginia, USA Aug 29, 2008 This beer pours a clear golden fluid with champagne-like bubbles rising up through the pint glass I used. The head which didn’t last too long was thick and frothy but eventually gave way to become a like film over the top of the beer. The somewhat weak aroma is mainly malty with hints of green grapes. The mouthfeel is quite creamy and very satisfying. The flavor is mostly sweet carmelly malts with only a touch of hop bitterness near the finish. There are also hints of fruitiness. Quite refreshing actually. EHopper (118), Minnesota, USA Jul 26, 2008 Very drinkable. Light flavor of apples and a bit of spice. I bit thin, but not bad. Great for a hot day at a festival in the park. SODAK14 (41), Rapid City, South Dakota, USA Jul 14, 2008 Decent beer. Leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste. Pretty just an average beer in this category. IlanMan (522), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jun 27, 2008 Well blended bitterness with a creamy palate. Easy to drink and nothing over-whelms anything else in the beer. Decent. Aubrey (2592), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 26, 2008 Rich gold hue; average head. Creamy carbonation; snappy texture. Filled with honey, flowers, herbs, spices, cereal and sweet grains. Nice, slightly hot alcohol nip in the background. Has some tripel characteristics, but with an unusal hop profile. Slightly cloying in the back of the throat. Not too shabby.
