Nate (2254), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 21, 2008 Bottle courtesy of dpjuart. Light fruity hop aroma, mild butterscotch-diacetyl character, hint of grapefruit or pineapple, too. Mild sweet malt undertones, with some caramel and brown sugar. Dark golden amber clear, with thin off-white lacing head. Medium to light watery body, with medium carbonation. Kinda dead. Starts with a bit of caramel maltiness, but mainly a decent bitterness from dull, slightly fruity hops. Mild chemical astringent bitterness, with papery bitter finish and light nutty-chalky after.
jbuzz (507), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Oct 6, 2008 Tasting Three Cellars Milwaukee. Another fine brew from Schell !
Good dose of hops and slight spices. Very smooth. pj1855 (73), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Sep 28, 2008 Poors a golden color with virtually no head. Hoppy aroma of citrus and pine.
This is definitely not my style of beer. Too hoppy and bitter for me. Although the malts did come through a bit more as it warmed up. Naka (423), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 14, 2008 Courtesy of Juart about a year ago (oops). Pours a deep honey amber orange with tons of sediment. A thick foamy head that has a little bit of lasting power. Nose is pine and flowery hops with some apple juice and a slight metallic note. The flavor has a slight fruity sweetness and a bitter that cuts through at the end, but just has tons of metallic rusty flavors and aromas. I’m sure this is my own fault for forgetting about it for so long. The hop character is a little weak now but it was probably once pretty decent. It does have a pretty solid full body. hero12 (41), USA Jul 31, 2008 Updated: Aug 16, 2008Poured a clear brown color. Aroma of hops. Tasted of hops with a bitter finish. Superb overall beer, and a great pale ale. EHopper (142), Minnesota, USA Jul 26, 2008 Because it is from Schell, this is a very easy drinking Pale Ale, drinkable amounts of citrus hops, malt and light sweetness, with just a touch of bitter. A taste I would never tire of.
