COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A shining example of the true European Pilsner style beer, Schell's Pilsner is brewed with 100 percent barley malt, where the imported German Hallertau hops flavor is showcased. Its full hop characteristic and delicate aroma were developed in Pilsn, Czechoslavakia around 1840. This style was widely copied by early American breweries. Over the years, however, it has been lost to the much lighter-bodied, low-hopped relatives we refer to as American "Premium" beer.
Schell's Pilsner has won many awards, including medals from the prestigious Great American Beer Festival.
Ingredients: 100% Pale malt, domestic Cascade, and imported Hallertau hops.

pours a yellow gold with a descent white bubbly head. aroma is pilsner malt and piney citrus hops. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger with decsent lacing. a very nice take on a german pils the cascade might overshadow the hallertau a little, but a good beer.

Excellent pilsner. Beautiful golden color, smell and taste is clean and crisp with a little citrus hop flavor and smell as a pilsner should be. If your looking for lots of hops and bold flavor you should be buying a double IPA and not a pilsner. One of the best pilsners I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass Appearance: Pours a thick sudsy 3" white head that recedes very slowly with plenty of lacing. Color is pale straw with plenty of streaming carbonation. Aroma: bready malts, yeast, some grass and bitter hops. Mouthfeel: light bodied and frothy with a mostly dry finish. Flavor: pungent earthy and grassy hops balanced with sweet lightly toasted barley. Overall: well done pilsener, very much to style.

Clear brownish yellow. Hard water, lemon curd, honey aroma. Light vanilla and lactic notes. Clean enough, never unpleasant.

Subdued, mostly sweet grain and honey nut Cheerios flavor. Moments of lemon acidity and clangy metallic notes.

This example lacks in both body and carbonation level. The finish shows a flash of saaz like spice and dry grass, and mutes itself quickly.

Really not good at all. Miller lite is better, so sad, but true. Cool label, only redeeming quality. Tastes like beer spit mixed with bud light.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Cereal grains and some light bread on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes clean.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors, in Maplewood, MN. Pours a clear golden straw colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin film top and white ring. Aroma of golden grain malt, some grassy hops, a touch of honey and some pear. Taste is light to medium bodied, some average carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, some grassy hops and a touch of saltine crackers. Finish is not as sharp/spicy as the 1984 version and a lighter clean cut aftertaste with some lingering bitterness.

Bottle: Clear, fizzy yellow-gold with a small white head. Slightly skunked grain malt aroma. Taste is vegetal, grassy bitter.... Ok, but seems slightly too far on the bitter side.
