COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A shining example of the true European Pilsner style beer, Schell's Pilsner is brewed with 100 percent barley malt, where the imported German Hallertau hops flavor is showcased. Its full hop characteristic and delicate aroma were developed in Pilsn, Czechoslavakia around 1840. This style was widely copied by early American breweries. Over the years, however, it has been lost to the much lighter-bodied, low-hopped relatives we refer to as American "Premium" beer.
Schell's Pilsner has won many awards, including medals from the prestigious Great American Beer Festival.
Ingredients: 100% Pale malt, domestic Cascade, and imported Hallertau hops.

Courtesy jsquire. A very confused and weak malt profile, some sour notes and mild cereal taste with sweetness but nothing solid. Hops are there, hay, grass, herbs, but the malt lacking throws the whole thing off.

pours a yellow gold with a descent white bubbly head. aroma is pilsner malt and piney citrus hops. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger with decsent lacing. a very nice take on a german pils the cascade might overshadow the hallertau a little, but a good beer.

Pours a pale golden color. Aroma is bready with a tinge of floral hops. The taste is perfect with a medium, bready sweetness offset by lightly spicy hop flavor that adds earthy, floral notes and hints of citrus. A wonderful crispness in the finish sets this beer apart making for an amazing brew.

Bottle at Minneapolis Beer Fest. Very light yellow pour, minimal head. A little grassy, slightly sweet, a little fizzy - and that’s about it.

(bottle 7/31/10). Clear gold color. Large white head. Moderate pils malt aroma, with light citrus. Flavor of the same. Avg duration. Light dry finish. Thin/slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Good lacing.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2011 Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Pilsner glass. Appearance: Light, slightly hazy, yellow with moderate white head and slight lacing lines. Aroma: Mostly straw and grass, with some apple, pear and peppery hops. Taste: Fairly similar to the smell but a little more pronounced. Grassy, grainy and straw-like, with sweet apple and pear. Has a peppery finish that is just a little bit bitter. Doesn’t quite seem like a true Pilsner to me, as it has some of the sweeter, more grainy qualities of a Euro Lager. Palate: Moderately high carbonation, light body that is almost creamy, not quite as dry as I like in a great Pilsner. Overall: Great thirst quencher. Once again, seems to fall between a German Pilsner and a Euro Lager.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

Nice, enjoyable pilsener. Pours pale, cloudy straw yellow with a nice, thick white head. Nose of honey, hallertau hops, and biscuit. Flavor is light, floral hops, honey, and biscuit. Nice, dry finish.
