COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As the days grow shorter and colder in Bavaria, shoppers exhausted from a day at the open air market look forward to stopping by their local for a nourishing glass of the seasonal specialty: Weihnachtsbier. Snowstorm 2008 was designed with the cold days of winter in mind. Reddish brown in color with a complex maltiness yielding hints of spicy rye, sourdough, and chocolate. Brewed with nine different malts, including copious amounts of Munich and a touch of Rye.

Bottle. Pours amber-brown with a thin white head. Smells mostly of caramel with hints of spice and malt. Lacing dissipates quickly while drinking. Taste initially of caramel but quickly becomes an explosion of various malts. Very decent aftertaste (not too bitter). Enjoyable beer...and warming!

Bottle pours amber with a decent head and some residual lace. The aroma is of spiced malt. The flavor is malty and spiced in such a way as to produce a slightly warming nature. The palate is pretty decent. Overall, one of the better Snow Storms I’ve tried.

On draught during the ABR ’08 in Minneapolis, MN. Pours a hazy caramel amber brew with a thick beige head that has some good retention and some spotty lacing. Aroma of slightly smoked caramel malt, some roasted nuts, powdered biscuits and some mild hard fruits. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of powdered caramel malt, a touch of tobacco, chocolate and light herbal spices. Finish is semi-dry with a good balance of grain and floral hop bitterness.

Autumn Brew Review 2008. Murky brown color with a medium head. Caramel malt and dusty grain/hop aroma. Sweet malt flavor. The brew takes a very unexpected turn into a light tartness and some fruitiness, mostly cherry. Quite different.
