COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with Munich, Wheat, Xtra Special and Midnight Wheat Malt, this Dunkel Doppel Weizenbock has a rich, velvety malt body with notes of milk chocolate. Higher carbonation levels give this beer a full bodied mouth feel and a fluffy, creamy head with a banana and clove aroma.

Bottles, pours amber with a white head, Banana and spice taste with a hint of smoke. Probably my second favorite of the series.

Thanks to FlandersNed for sending this out my way. Split with Adam. The beer is dark copper hued with a small, tan head. The aroma is a huge banana bomb. Adam is right on the money when he described the aroma as bananas foster. The flavor follows suit. Lots of bananas soaked in alcohol, with a nice malty backbone. Rum and candied fruits. Good feel. Alcohol is present, though unobtrusive. A solid brew. I would have this again. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-01-2011

Clear copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, grains, cabbage, burnt sugar and something a bit strange. Taste of burnt sugar, banana, light clove, toasted malt, toffee and yeast. Very sweet and finishes somewhat metallic.

bottle 1/12/11 from dalzale. reddish auburn brown with a soft creamy off white head. lots of clingy foam. the aroma and flavor.... holy bananas and brown sugar!... also, toasted nuts, malt and chocolate. it is medium bodied, crisp and quaffable for a normally sweet style. 7/3/7/4/15

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Weizen glass. Appearance: Cloudy, orangish-mahogany with moderate light tan head. Aroma: Bananas, sweet tropical fruit, caramel, cloves and just a general spiciness. Very strong aroma throughout. Taste: Very malty at first with somewhat sweet banana, coconut and other tropical flavors, along with some caramel, cherry and plum. The cloves then come in strongly and continue through the lightly spicy and hoppy finish, when the banana returns and lingers long after the finish. Palate: Moderate carbonation, somewhat full creamy body, lightly dry finish. A little more lively than expected. Overall: I had hoped this would be good as Schell makes a strong Hefe, and this is really just a stronger, maltier version of that. Overall, this is another great SnowStorm beer from Schell, rivaling the Weihnachtsbier from 2008.

Bottle from a trade with CanIHave4Beers. Thanks, Andy! Pours slightly ruby-tinted clear brown with thin tan head. Nose is big and sweet: caramelized banana, molasses, toasted marshmallow, sweet grain. Taste is a bit more banana and fruit. Yum.

12 oz. bottle via trade with tytoanderso - Pours a clear brown color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Faint spotty lacing. Aroma is banana and spice. Flavor is malt, esters (banana), and light spice. Finish is fairly smooth. Medium body. A nice beer. Thanks Tyler.

12 oz. bottle, the fifth beer I consumed from a six-pack purchased several months ago as of this writing. Labeled as “Schell’s Snowstorm 2010 Weizen Doppelbock Beer.” Fruity, sweet, yeasty aroma features bubblegum, cinnamon, lemon, cumin, and sweet tobacco scents. Strong, appetizing smell that is quite enjoyable though a bit too sweet to be ideal. Pours a clear, light to medium brown with a copper hue. Many small bubbles that rise at a moderate speed. Moderate to large amount of thick, frothy, taupe-colored head. Produces pretty good, fairly extensive lacing. Sharp and sweet taste. Bubblegum, Indian-food spices, lemon, orange, and carob included amongst the flavors. Biscuity. Herbal/vegetal finish. Just a hint of that sharp metallic flavor that sometimes mars Schell’s beers. Very interesting taste. Fluffy and light in the palate. Light to medium body. Palate effects do not stand out. The beer tastes almost as Belgian as it does German. It’s a darn good beer overall.
