COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schell’s Stout has been chosen as our newest year round craft beer offering. As our 2006 Snow Storm, the Stout received so many requests to bring the beer back, we simply couldn’t ignore them. A departure from our traditional German style lagers, our Schell’s Stout is a London-Style Sweet Stout. If you enjoy the taste of coffee and chocolate, you’ll love this delicious brew. We used only the finest malts imported from Great Britain. Sure, it might cost a little more to brew, but we’re certain you’ll agree it’s worth it.

This is the best of Schell´s lineup. That being said, it is still quite thin and unremarkable. The color is very dark, but that is about it. I have spent a good deal of time in London drinking Stouts and have never run across anything like this (which is a good thing).

Decent stout that has a few minerally aftertaste and palate attackers, but generally will do the trick.

Black color, medium body and average head. Aroma and taste are traditional stout roasted malt---dialed down to pretty bland. Little hop bitterness.

dekester1 (309) - Neenah, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Poured a very dark brown - almost black - with a light tan head and minmal lacing. Aroma was of malts and coffee with a slight fruitiness. Taste was complex - roasted malts, nutty, coffee, chocolate hints and a light hop finish. Mouth was decent. Overall, a nice ’milder’ stout.

jebert (492) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 9, 2012
Pours a dark brown almost black with a nice sized head of tan foam. Nose is cocoa and dark malt. The texture is full with good creaminess. Taste is full of cocoa, coffee and dark roasted grains. It has a nice finish that is not too sweet or too bitter. A well made stout that compares well to Guiness. Try it with with smoked cheese and crackers.

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 12/20
Beyond (23) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 8, 2012
Dark brown pour, large tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Start is malty with caramel overtones, then reveals the chocolate & coffee flavors. Finish is smooth with no surprises. Not much bitterness, not an emphasis on hops. Pleasant, a brew for the summer months: light for a stout.

Bottle poured a clear dark rerddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roastiness, bitter chocolate and coffee. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of roastiness, coffee and light cocoa with a crisp lingering roasty finish.

Bottle in hotel room. Dark brown appearance with a brown head. Roasty dark chocolate, cocoa, espresso, light vanilla aroma. Burnt dark roasty chocolate malty flavor with notes of char, wood, and smoke. Not bad.
