2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Spicy hops and hay aroma with a touch of white grape and ethanol. Crystal clear gold under a quickly dropping white fizz. Sweet malt flavour that has very little else in the way of flavour--even a decent amount of ethanol is apparent that seems to warm the mouth. Medium body, medium carbonation, tangy ethanolic finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, as ’Kloster-Gold Hell’. Pours brilliant yellow with a disappointing skim of head. Biscuit, honey and grassy hop aroma with some cooked vegetables and almond-accented booziness showing through. A bit rubbery and astringent with no real freshness of hop or malt character; a few salvaging crumbs of breadstick, maybe a hint of lemon. Perfectly drinkable, but not a bier I’ll be rushing back to.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Pale golden color with small bubbles and a moderate fluffy white head on the top.
Aroma: Pilsner malty, slightly corny attributes with a typical clean yeast profile.
Flavor: Fresh cerals and salty crackers smoothly melt to mild, slightly boozy and metallic bitterness, but remains a sweet, honeyish malty finish.
Mouthfeel/Palate: Easy, watery body with soft carbonation and thirst-quenching nature.
Overall: Quaffable german light lager, good stuff!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 500ml. Pours a clear light golden color with a big white head that disappears quickly. Medium body and carbonation. Mild hoppy aroma, a little grass, grain and malts. Taste is slightly sweet with a hint of citrus and honey. Pretty smooth Helles. Aftertaste is a bit bitter, fruity and dry, but nicely balanced. Refreshing beer. Nothing too special, but very drinkable.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured clear golden with a big white head. Good lacing. Smells like a typical helles but a little on the sweet side. Taste had a slight apple sweetness to it. Dry finish and a nice balance with the medium hop bite.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Typical Helles/Pilsener appearence. Spicy but inoffensive lemony, grassy hop aroma, slightly sweaty. The flavour is sweet grainy and again grassy, balanced but finishes on the dry side. The pale malts can’t hide a somewhat boozy note. Fairly clean but absolutely unexciting.
