Dark amber with a nice head. The aroma has inviting notes of caramel and hops. The flavour is smooth and has notes of roasted malt, caramel, sweetness and it has a moderate bitter finish.

Bottle. Frothy off-white good mostly deminishing head. Great golden cupper colour.Nice buy week aroma with caramellic notes. Sweet flavor. A litle caramellic. Avewrage finish. Oily palate.

Citrusaroma. A bit tart. Fairly complex taste with chocolate, citrus and some hopbitterness. Thinnish and a bit skunky aftertaste.

Bottled as Altbayreuther braunbier. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, sugar, malt. Flavour is sweet, malt ,caramel

Das Bier beginnt herb, im langen Nachgeschmack ist es eher röstmalzern. Insgesamt sehr süffig, lecker! Test vom 27.8.2006, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 8,11,11,11,-,11 - 10,68

Bügelverschlußflasche: Clear amber coloured, small, lacy off-white head, lazy carbonation; distinctive sweet dark-malty, nutty nose with a tinge of toasted malt; moderate to to robust sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; a bit drier and more bitter in the toasted-malty finish with the faintest illusions of smoked malt in the very end. Very decent, spicy stuff...........

(swing top bottle) Clear, dark amber to copper colour with a fluffy and quite persistent foamy beige head. Dusty, sweet malty, slightly toasty aroma with faint notes of dried fruits and a herbal hoppy touch; also shy notes of metal when its freshly poured. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Softly toasted malty body with light hoppy notes and a shy fruity background. Moderately dry, malty, bitter and herbal hoppy finish. Rather light but somewhat tasty, thus sessionable Dunkel.

Bottle. Amber, offwhite head. Malty toffee aroma, caramel, a bnit roasted and with vanilla notes. Malty flavor, some chocolate, a bit roasted, maybe alittle too thin. Malty, roasted finish.

Clear orange brown with a large beige head. Aroma is malty, roasted malt, caramel and dusty hops. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Finish is dry and a bit dusty. This feels more like a brown ale than a dunkel, and that’s not a bad thing. 150211

Tap. Chocolate and brown sugar malt aroma. Dark brown color with moderate head. Smoky chocolate and brown sugar malt flavor. Nice body. A very nice beer.
