Bottle 50cl, A nice amber dark color with good light brownish head. Nose has lot of dark caramel, biscuit and toasted malt. Aroma is roasted with burnt caramel and even light smoked notes, not too sweet, some baltic porter characteristics. Good.

Bottle @ Bamberg. BB 08/11. Pours ruby amber with a small stable creamy head. Nose is caramel and dark fruit. Sweet and vinous flavor - almost Barley Wine like. Smooth and oily. Nice sipper.

Test vom 15.11.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,11,12,12,10,12 - 11,65

Swing-top bottle. Prune malt aroma - light astringency. Clear dark copper color with moderate head. Sweet light prune malt flavor with a moderate bitter/astringent finish. Decent flavor but on the light side for a doppelbock.

500 ml bottle. Sparkling reddish copper. Very tall light beige head that clings to the glass. Delicious caramel aroma. Notes of white pepper and chocolate. Flavour is full of caramel and flavourful sweet malt. Full-bodied. Feels a little sweet, but there is quite a bit of hops to stand up against the sweetness, even though the hops are really well hidden, except for a little sharp metallic-like flavour in the finish. A great doppelbock.

0.5 l bottle. Amber-red color with creamy head. Rich sweet, malty and bready aroma with rye bread, nuts and caramel. Thick malty, bready and toasty flavor with dark rye bread, toffee and warming alcohol. Very rich tasting bock with dark bread upfront.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Strong-malty aroma. Tastes malty and dry, a bit alcoholic, modest sourish in the end. Finish a bit unbalanced. Drinkable!

bottle, thanks to BO! Clear amber-brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Very creamy with lots of caramel flavours. Full-bodied, sweet and malty, also hints of roasetd malt and toffee.
